Another one I love. Because of the solitude. Because of Snape's face. I love how artists find ways to make the unbeautiful beautiful again - to make Snape utterly riveting. The shadows and sorrow in his face, the quietness, the cold breeze in his hair, the way he rests his cheek against his hand - I could stare at this for hours. And the multitude of eyes - the green eyes, the memories watching him, Voldemort watching him, Dumbledore watching him, while he lies in wait, also watching, hidden amongst the trees. I like the bare tree trunk behind him, camouflaging him, with the branches framed above giving an impression of distance, and he leans into a whiteness that breathes a sense of winter, snow drifting on his shoulder and in the crook of his elbow.
Gah. I could imagine him falling asleep here and never waking up. There's a timeless quality about this one that's very gentle and heartbreaking.

Thanks so much! Can't find words how joyful I am to succeed in making this watching the watcher moment clear enough to be seen and understood right the way I intended. This scene in the Forest of Dean is among my favorite ones, seen from Snape's viewpoint: silent waiting in midwinter wood, darkness behind and beyond, a glimpse of hope in utter hopelessness.

I went looking for an image that had impact but wasn't TOO horrifying for you. Man, I cannot believe I forgot how much I love this series.
It has one of the best villian speeches OF ALL TIME.
