Lauren: It sucks. All the guards are fucking mean girls who go out of their way to humiliate you. Forget to say "yes ma'am" one time, and they'll treat you like a murderer.

Sarah: Nothing positive at all?

Lauren: Hmm. You know, there's this cute new girl in my block. Yuka.

Sarah: I think I met her a few days ago. In the bathroom.

Lauren: I love her so much. She's so cute, and so ditzy.

Sarah: Yeah, didn't strike me as a hardened criminal.

Sarah pauses.

Sarah: So, anything else about prison life you'd like to mention?

Lauren: I hate being forced to go barefoot. There's no good reason for that rule. It's just to break us, and keep us down.

Sarah: Yeah, I don't buy their reasoning either. Probably some perverts getting off on it.
