My response to the episode is that it isn't bad it just used an overused as hell plot line (character A saves character B's life, character B feels bound to repay character A in any way to repay character A for saving character B's life, character A likes the kind gestures and service character B provides at first then slowly get annoyed/creeped out, so on and so forth). The episode had some funny parts to it. There were people who complained about the use of CGI (The timber-wolves) in this episode and felt that CGI should "Get the fuck out of MLP:FIM" but I didn't mind it (as long as in the future they don't abuse it). Overall an episode that isn't bad but I felt like I've seen better out of MLP:FIM.

Well I found out this episode was written by Merriwether Williams so that's why the episode felt a bit weak (Not to sound mean but in my opinion she's the weakest writer of the bunch with MLP:FIM[*cough* The Mysterious Mare Do Well" *cough* ], not that's she's incapable of writing a good episode as in the case of "Wonderbolt Academy").

And the AJxSpike shipping nearly died out after the near kiss in the Diamond Dog episode, and now we've got so much RariJack in this season...oh that clever bastard is going for the hat trick! He knew he couldn't win Rarity over directly but seeing how close Applejack and Rarity are getting he sees he could get close to Applejack as she starts a relationship with Rarity it'll bring him closer to both! Shut up my shipping goggles are comfortable and stylish.

Yeah, it never fails. Almost every good TV show has that ONE episode where a well-established character is written extremely OOC to the point where it's unbearable. It would have been MUCH better if Spike was portrayed as a competent, yet very overbearing helper.

Yes. It would have been a much better plot to have Spike being very useful to AJ and she, used to be an independent pony, could feel uncomfortable with someone doing so much work for her.

THANK YOU! That would have been much better! Spike isn't some bumbling oaf, it's been shown MANY times that he was very handy when it came to doing chores. He's even shown himself to be a capable cook.
*sigh* And this season's episodes have been great up until this one.
