Description
Witness my last confession,as my undeath is nearly spent.
Be the last to hear my lesson,
but don't expect me to repent.
Lean down a little closer,
since I am so short of breath.
You're of a few to know, sir.
A vampire at his death.
I read doubt in your eyes,
yet fear beats in your breast.
For you know I'd surely rise,
if not for this stake run through my chest.
How else could I converse,
were I not truly undead?
To take life is my curse,
until someone takes my head.
I was once but a man,
until she made me something more.
Instead of hero to my clan,
I died on a tavern floor.
I wish I'd never sought her,
tried to kill her that fateful night.
That angel, the devils daughter,
Mistress damned me with her bite.
I awoke a few nights later,
in a box within the earth.
Drawing strength from how I hate her,
I dug for all I was worth.
I set about to find her,
teach her the error of her ways.
A stake through the heart to bind her,
left to burn in the suns' rays.
Mistress proved no easy quarry,
though my will she could not quell.
Once caught, twas another story,
one I haven't time to tell.
I thought of my condition,
in this land of war and strife.
Sword for hire became my mission,
to free the blood, for the blood is life!
I joined the nearest army,
for blood and death I'm game.
When none could scarcely harm me,
I rose in rank and name.
Alas, I rose too fast,
Royalty couldn't help but see.
That if my loyalty didn't last,
a formidable enemy I would be.
So they set me up to fall,
with a trap that lie in wait.
For me, they sent out the call,
my promotion to be the bait.
They saw the power I'd wield,
so they went through great pains.
Staked me in a sacred field,
buried me in silver chains.
And as a final blow,
they let me keep my head.
Spending centuries in limbo,
decaying but not truly dead.
But now you have found me,
dug me up after a mental call.
And as soon as you've unbound me,
I'll take you for a thrall.
So pull out the accursed stake,
good, now remove the poisonous ore.
I've a new life in this world to make,
you'll provide me sustanence and so much more.
Pull me from this hell in which I was hurled,
by those long dead mortal men.
With your knowledge of this world,
A Vampire Lord, I shall be again.
