I find it impossible to look at your drawing without smiling along with its main character . I'm curious about the story behind it. Since you uploaded it into the "Storybook" category on DA, is there a published book of which this drawing is a part?
I read your comment about your technique for creating the background texture using digital noise. Worked beautifully!

Thanks Marilyn. I'm rather inconsistent about how I categorize my work; this one is part of my "Freya and the Fairies" series, which is a set of illustrations for an as yet unwritten book. There will be more.
I'm glad you liked the digital technique.

Oh. Loved the details on those trunks, fallen leaves and the shadows.

That makes me smile.... and come to my faves !
I have a little question, do you use a toothbrush or anything other for the small dots in the Background ?

Thanks.
I produced this as a black conte drawing on white paper, but then wished I'd drawn it in sepia on coloured ingres. So I set about making it look as near as I could to the way I would have liked the original to have been. The speckled effect is digital noise. I have used a toothbrush from time to time to produce a similar though less predictable and regular effect.
Thanks for the faves

Autumn has certainly arrived in my garden, fallen leaves all over the place. Then again that's probably due to the lack of rain.
Glad you approve of the wings, and thanks for the fave.

There'd be a fantastic market in exporting rain if such a thing were possible.
