I have followed the inking here - and I find the original really beautiful - great model, great setting, great proportions and the light is perfectly chosen to show the valley of the spine and her perfectly shaped tushie.

The whimsical, energized attitude of the legs evokes some phrase from dance vocabulary: Degas? Chagall? a photo by Soichi Sunami? Led by her right foot, the line beginning just below her (right) hip sinuates through her torso. The little spot of neck encourages us to make the leap behind her head and continue to the tips of the fingers of the right hand. A gorgeous, sinuous line.
The line continues down the lower part of her (right) forearm. This time thereβs a bigger leap for the eye to make but her left hand pulls enough (because of the similarity in shape to the right hand) to allow continuing down the bottom (her left) side of the torso, down the thigh, back up to the right knee and back to the foot and so on. We canβt escape! And that look: the quiet invitation (we hope). (This must be what happened to Ulysses and his men when they encountered the Sirens.)
The right hand is elegant and critical. Covered, the shot loses movement and luxuriousness. Still a wonderful shot but absent that extra dimension. The pose, the dark stockings and heels (a personal weakness of mine) echo Schiele.
The couch seems a little seedy, but considering everything else thatβs going on here, easily overlooked.

Indeed, the couch is seedy, surprisingly so, given the cost of rental of the apartment and the area in which I lived ...

Hardly undeserved. It is truly my pleasure. Especially when you keep giving us pieces like this; it's like listening to good music.
Rent in Paris high too eh? (I'm in NYC). I've come to the conclusion that we're actually paying for membership in a club - certainly not for the egregiously small space. (They will, however, have to drag me from here kicking and screaming. There are very vew other places I would be happy.)
