Description
Nasira and Lavendar finish at the Gemini Lingerie store and are very happy with their purchases (it only took them an hour to decide what to buy; after paying for the frilly boyshorts, Lavendar then got serious and browsed for underwear she intends to wear regularly). They exit the shop and Nasira suggests they grab a bite to eat at the Fourways Cake Shop .

On their way there, several streets further on, Nasira stops and gasps. Lavendar stops also and wonders what her friend has seen.

"Look, there's Vicki!" Nasira says and gestures ahead of her at a teenage girl heading in their direction. "Vicki! Hi!" she calls out.

Vicki Becker, on recognizing who is calling to her, hurries her pace and approaches the other two. She smiles at Nasira. "Hey, Nazz," she says and looks at Lavendar with the obvious question 'So, who is this?' on her face. "Uh, and hi... uh... yeah."

"This is Lavendar!" Nasira laughs and stands so that she is spanning the gap between the two of them. "She's here! She came over earlier than I thought and I've been showing her some of the fun things Mettleham's got to offer. And Lavendar... this is Vicki Becker, one of the gang that sits with me at the back of our form room during Reg Period."

The slightly confused look on Vicki's face disappears and she breaks into a bigger, much warmer smile. "Hey, Lavendar! So good to meet you! Nazz has been talking about you for weeks now, ever since she found out you'd be coming to Tibb's. Gotta say, you look so different to what I thought you'd be like. You look so... hehe... well, so normal!"

"Normal?" Lavendar laughs uncertainly. "Not sure what you expected, Vicki, but yeah, I'm just a regular girl like you'd meet anywhere." She looks down at herself and then does a 360° twirl to show that she does not have a tail, dorsal fins, or anything else obviously weird about her. After she has completed her display, all three girls giggle and this bit of silliness convinces Vicki that Lavendar is someone worth knowing.

"I sometimes got carried away when I was talking about you with my mates, sorry," Nasira offers by way of an explanation before quickly moving the conversation on. She holds up the bag with the lingerie shop's logo. "We've just come from Gemini's. Got ourselves some nice knickers, tights for me, and Lavendar bought a couple of lovely bras. Then I thought we should go get a snack at Fourways so that's where we're off to now. Fancy joining us?"

"Try and stop me!" Vicki agrees with a big grin. Being a Tibb's Girl, she is a regular customer at the Fourways Cake Shop and enjoys hanging out there as she is sure to see various other Tibb's Girls whom she does not regularly interact with outside of school.

On their way to Fourways, the girls chat constantly but it is centred entirely on Lavendar and her experience of England so far.

Vicki brings up a question which Nasira had obviously overlooked. "So... are you going to the Saint Tibb's open day where all the new starters get a tour of the grounds and what-have-you?" she asks. "I think it's next week or the week after, something like that."

"No, I never saw any mention of it in all the letters, leaflets, and all the other paperwork stuff they sent me," Lavendar shakes her head. "Maybe I missed it and it went in the trash by accident. Is it usual practice for exchange students not to be invited, maybe? But I am starting there so I should be allowed to go, right?"

"Dunno," both Nasira and Vicki shrug, having no experience of students coming from overseas and only staying for a year.

"Maybe you should give them a call or an email or something and see if you'd be allowed to go. You are a new starter, after all. It would be a cool way for you to get to see the place," Vicki says. "And I bet you're dying to see it, eh? Nazz will have raved to you about it, I'm sure. You can't get a more Tibbsian Girl than our Nazz here! She loves the place."

"Hehe!" Lavendar giggles. "She has mentioned it a few times, yes! We've already been at the front gate and I got a glimpse of that old church thing you guys have got in there but the whole place was locked up coz it's, like, summer vacation. But yeah... I prob'ly should see if I can get to that open day thing. I'll contact them and see the what deal is with that. Thanks, Vicki!"

They continue on, chatting about more topics related to Lavendar and her upcoming year in England, and make their way to the Cake Shop where tasty sweets and pastries are to be found.
