Seamus looks out through the patio doors, into the back garden, watching his daughter.

Felicity is outside at the bottom of the garden with her friend, Amanda, and she is set to begin another day out there. So far, towards the end of the first week of Summer Break, Felicity has spent almost every daylit hour out in the back garden in lieu of her being able to enjoy the amazing weather at a location elsewhere in Mettleham or beyond. She has adhered to the lockdown which she and her family and friends agreed would be wise and prudent behaviour since becoming aware of the stalker situation.

She has not complained, not really, but it is obvious to both Seamus and Paige that their daughter is having a hard time confined to the house. And she is certainly missing the daily walks with Wilberforce , instead having to make do with playing puppy-based games limited to the perimeter of the Byrons' property.

"I can't sit here and watch her go on like dis all trough summer, Paige, I just can't!" he says to his wife as she enters the living room. "I've got to do sumtin'."

Paige comes over to where Seamus is sitting and, snuggling up beside him, puts an arm around him and gives him a quick kiss. "I know, love, I know, but we haven't got the first clue where to start looking for this damned creep. It's a horrible situation, especially for Fliss, but what else can we do?"

Seamus sighs and looks out at his daughter setting up the chess board for another game with Amanda. There is nothing he would not do to keep her safe but when the path ahead is not even signposted then it is doubly frustrating when the urge to act becomes strong.

"I don't know, sweet love, I just don't know," he says before turning his head to kiss Paige on the forehead. "How about... oh... I dunno... how about we look into hirin' one of those private detective fellas? Would dat help, d'ya tink, if we paid ya man to look into the case for us?"

"A private detective?" Paige considers the suggestion. "They charge stupid fees by the hour, don't they?"

Seamus shrugs. "I don't mind payin' whatever it costs. It's for Flissy, after all."

And so, a day later after doing some research on local detective agencies in Mettleham, Seamus Byron knocks on the door leading into the offices of Veritas Investigations ("A sterling job, guaranteed" the tagline on the agency's website claimed).

"Good morning, sir!" the cheery receptionist (Seamus assumes) greets him. "How may I help?"

"I'm lookin' to hire a detective, a private detective. I've got a... well, a situation, like, wit a... hmm... a stalker, I guess. Well, not me personally but me daughter. I tought maybe... ?" Seamus hesitates through his explanation, unsure how much he should be revealing to this woman.

"A stalker?" the woman says with raised eyebrows. She picks up a folder and walks over to some filing cabinets lined up against one of the internal walls. She pulls a drawer open, places the folder inside, and turns to look at Seamus with a reassuring smile. "We have handled several cases involving stalkers. That's familiar territory for us so... yes, you've come to the right place." She returns to her desk and points to the sofa opposite. "If you like, you can take a seat and Mr Sterling should be back within half an hour. I can make you some tea or coffee while you wait, or there's a sandwich shop downstairs if you prefer."

"Yeah tanks, love, I passed the sarnie shop on me way in," Seamus says as he looks at the sofa being offered to him. "A half hour, you say? Oh sure, I can wait for dat." He approaches the sofa and sits at the nearest end, looking up at the receptionist with a big smile. "And if you're offerin' a tea, I'll take mine black wit one sugar. Ta!"
