Description No man wishes for a giant Gobifish to descend from space and crush his home.

And Mudara is not a No man.

Mudara is a kemonomimi that lives by himself on a tiny planet. The Gobifish is an interstellar fish that swims through vaccuum and in general does nothing at all. Nothing. What will you do, Mudara?

Well, I've been drawing a lot of girls recently, and felt I should feed the deprived fangirls a bishounen or something. Well, have at it.

In this piece I tried to be more reserved with cell-shading, after watching a movie and realizing there was actually NO SHADING AT ALL (and yet it managed to retain its quality feel), so this is kind of an experiment. The background also took a lot more time since I wanted to make it look more painted and less..."animated." Sadly, the house has a lot of little cracks and stuff that you can't see because I forgot I was working under high zoom.

But the trees were really fun. Really. They know the best games.

Made in Flash

EDIT: In response to some recurring comments:
1) The cracks you see on the house are actually just the dark green algae that fills in some of them.
2) Mudura's ears and tail are of the canine variety.
3) The movie was one of the One Piece ones. Peace.
4) No.

While it's technically not a Bishi, he is kinda cute in that "energetic brat" sort of way...

What? yeah, I'm a guy, so...?

The lineart is just a tad choppy, but overall the picture has an excellent feel-- what did you use to draw it?

(hopefully this has not already been asked... >.>

*squints* Ah, so it is. I don't think I should be making comments at 3 in the morning anymore.

But still--I think only the trees might hint it was Flash... v____v Amazing work.

I tried using Flash as opposed to Adobe Photoshop a coupple of times for art---How the hell do you do it??? Photoshop is SO much easier!!! x_x

--I love how it turned out tho. So great job.

Heh. Well, whichever program one is most familiar with typically turns out to be easier (though not necessarily more potent).

I guess so--- hehe --You must've been using Flash for a while then. --I've been using photoshop since I was like 12 so it's alot more easy to use and understand than Flash.

--I can't even figgure out how those damn click animations work yet.

Oh wait. You already mentioned what movie it was. But it's 12:44 AM here...and my contacts are going out...and, uh, there's a flock of...bees...swimming around under my eyelids. Yup. So, uh, I guess I'm allowed to be somewhat illiterate.

I may just have to watch one of the One Piece movies now.

Another awesome picture as always. Even Mudara took the time to give a quick "rock on" gesture for the camera.

What was the show you were watching, by the way? It sounds pretty interesting. I've never heard of a movie with no shading whatsoever.

Try most old classic disney movies. xDD
Most of those have no shading at ALL, unless it's really dark in the scene they're playing.

maranight In reply to yoboseiyo [2007-06-18 11:04:05 +0000 UTC]

Nope.
I actually noticed that when I was watching the Lion King the other day. I noticed no shading at all untill they got to the "be prepared" scene.

But at the rate it's going... Tell me, by the time it actually reaches Earth, wouldn't it have been cooked to become a giant Gobifish filet from outer space?
Unless it's just that big.

JohnSu In reply to Dr-Baconman [2007-06-17 23:28:36 +0000 UTC]

It's a very small planet, so the atmosphere's only like 30 meters high. I know there's all sorts of physical and chemical problems with this, but let's just use the general blanket of fiction as an excuse.
