Description
“Ya still don’t get it, do you? The entire reason you sim-troopers were allowed to live this long, (chuckles) it’s because you’re all losers! Control was confident that you’d do more damage to these people than they could ever do to themselves. I mean, a bunch of idiots in charge of an army? Oh, come on, it was a recipe for disaster!”
“Didja think every battle in history was all part of some big ol’ conspiracy? Bullshit! War is just part’a who we are. Why fight it? Anyway, none of this will matter in three hours. Demand for PMC’s is about to skyrocket. Like the good ol’ days after 9/11!”
Summary: Shamelessly pure evil snarky sadistic high-tech blade-and-shield-wielding soldiers turned mercenaries who were hired by the political CEO main antagonists to plan massive wars which they accepted for their own simple selfish gain. They worked with groups of fellow high-tech mercenaries who were backed up by the companies of these antagonists to do this job but their demoralized partners underwent realizations that led to these members aiding the heroes which significantly contributed to their downfalls.
Connections:
Shamelessly pure evil snarky high-tech mercenaries who were once soldiers that notably fought in great wars (The Great War & the Invasion of Panama, the Gulf War, the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War) and didn’t want to return to civilian life due to their inherent sadism.
Their most notable weapons include certain blades (Felix’s Great Key and Combat Knives & Sundowner’s Bloodlust) and special shields (Felix’s Light Shield & Sundowner’s Explosive-Reactive Shields).
They were hired by the political CEO main antagonists (Chairman Malcolm Hargrove of Charon Industries & Senator Steven Armstrong of World Marshal Inc.) to plan massive wars which they accepted for their own simple selfish gain (Felix accepted the task to escalate the civil war on Chorus so he can get rich & Sundowner joined Armstrong’s plan to revive the war economy so he can enjoy more violence) and were even backed up by the companies of these antagonists.
They worked with groups of fellow high-tech mercenaries who were also backed up by the companies of these antagonists to do this job (The Space Pirates & Desperado Enforcement LLC.).
Their partners were men who were once morally true (Locus & Jetstream Sam) but were greatly demoralized as they (shallowly in Sam’s case) put their faith in the plans of these antagonists.
Their partners were rivals with traumatized high-tech heroes (Agent Washington & Raiden) who rebelled against corrupt factions that made them into their weapons (Project Freelancer & the Patriots) and (briefly in Wash’s case) gave them artificial enhancements (A Project Freelancer A.I. & a cyborg body).
These heroes reminded their partners of their original ideals which eventually led to their partners helping the heroes instead (Locus betrayed Felix which helped the Reds and Blues defeat Felix & Sam left Raiden with the Murasama to help him stop Armstrong).
In the end, they were bested by the swordsman main protagonists who share an affinity for pop culture (Lavernius Tucker & Raiden) and rebelled against corrupt factions that they were once part of (Project Freelancer & the Patriots).
