Description
Color job/character concept of [link] by Fyuvix [link] . .The idea I had was that this is a member of an alien race called Ch'Mera(I haven't yet come up with a name for this particular Ch'Mera). The Ch'Mera come from a planet the name of which has been lost to history, and are an amalgam of several species which existed on the planet prior to what they refer to as the "Great Cataclysm": Human(head, arms, and torso), deer(ears slightly resemble antlers, slightly deer-like facial features), oxen(front legs), eagle(wings), lion(rear legs), and dragon(belly and tail).
Notes:
1. I only colored the character, not the background, I may come back to the background one day
2. in [link] original lineart, the female had 2 bands around the upper part of her right arm. I had originally planned to incorporate the bands into a tattoo, but messed up, and decided to erase the bands completely.
Facts about the Ch'Mera:
1. The fact that their coloring(skin tone, hair and eye color) is different between the male and female is normal for the Ch'Mera. In fact, the coloring I gave them(fair skinned female with red hair and green eyes, darker complexioned male with blond hair and blue eyes) is one of the more common coloring combinations.
2. The Ch'Mera are hermaphroditic, and are capable of self-reproduction.
3. Although having both male and female upper bodies, each Ch'Mera is considered to be one being, and will refer to itself in the first person singular. Also, as they are both male and female, their language is completely gender-neutral.
4. The Ch'Mera is omnivorous, but with a twist: the male is strictly carnivorous, while the female is strictly herbivorous.
5. The male and female are actually conjoined at the lower torso, just below where the waist would be if they were fully human, just above where their human bodies join to their oxen front legs.
Once again, thanks to Fyuvix [link] for the original lineart.

How do they walk? Do they share control, do they each control one half of the body, or can they only move if they both will the same thing (like they can't move the right forepaw unless they both think it)?

One idea I came up with was that their spines meet about where their torsos are joined, and around there, about where their torsos meet their lower body, there's a third brain that controls everything but their torsos, and the male and female control only their own torso, although they both are aware of what their lower body does...

I really like the use of color, and the way you made them look similar yet different. I was a big fan of the original picture aswell.

Thank you. . . similar yet different was what I was going for. . . I wanted to show them as being individuals, yet part of a bigger whole. I tried several color schemes, and this is the one I liked the best. . . Is it just me, or does the female kind of remind you of Ariel from the Little Mermaid with red hair and fair skin? . . .
