I kinda interpreted the scene as this could've happened! It's not until after she calls out to him that the darkness disappears and he drops her, so maybe, for a split second, he realized what's happening. Either way it's sad.

Sadder when you consider that, if you go through the games in the correct order (order of release), you know that Terra is doomed by canon...

I imagine that would be sad. Though every time you start a prequel you expect at least one doomed protagonist. When we first started BbS and watched the opening, we were just like "...We're all going to die." So as sad as the ending was, we were relieved they didn't die. XD

Of course, starting with BBS as I did, I didn't see Ventus and think, "Huh? Roxas?" I got to the end of Re:CoM and thought, "VEN???"

BBS was my first exposure to KH, I didn't know about Sora and Riku and Kairi until we saw their little kid selves and had no idea who the Organization Somebodies were.

I had a few spoilers, but I didn't really understand them for the most part. Of course, some stuff was spoiled by the fact that I went chronologically. Watching Days before KH2 spoiled a couple of big reveals, but it also made Riku's transformation at the end of Days a surprise.

We actually had that spoiled as well, since we played Days first. But even though we played Days first, we were still pretty sure Xion wasn't in KH2, so we were thinking "she's probably going to die..." the whole time.

Ok, great! And then when Roxas showed Sora his memories and we could see Xion there I got so excited! And then SORA KNEW SHE WAS THERE! He didn't know her name, but HE KNEW SHE WAS THERE! And he must have been able to see her face, because he knew she was a girl! SORA HAS MEMORIES OF XION!!!!

Yes! I know the feeling! And the transition from Namine to Xion was shocking! And even though we played BbS first, we didn't get the Blank Points ending until after we played Days and KHII, so when we saw Xion we were all

Yeah, first time I saw Blank Points I had no idea who most of the characters were. I rewatched it again after getting through the rest of the games (I started rewatching the games in release order once I got through them chronologically, and this time I recognized the references in BBS!). When Namine showed up I had some feels. Seeing Roxas and Axel gave me feels. Seeing Xion almost made me cry! And it's still one of the two most emotional moments of that vid for me (the other being when we see Ven and Terra because WAYFINDER TRIO!!!)

I love Blank Points in all its twelve-minute glory. The scene between Terra and Xehanort is great. It takes a few watches to try and figure out what they're talking about, but it's great. Terra telling off Xehanort like a suave boss is one of the highlights of the whole video, if not the whole game. Even the Ansem scene was shocking. At first you're like "oh, this is that one time he was thrown in the Realm of Darkness," but then you're like "

Yes, I know exactly what you mean about the Ven and Terra bit! It always makes me sad but at the same time gives me hope. Say what you will about the convoluted plots Nomura comes up with, he writes characters you really care about. I feel pretty much the same way with the scene in Re:Coded where we see TAV. It means they're gonna be saved, but it's still so emotional it hurts. And in the HD version they're playing the music that plays when Aqua gives Terra and Ven the good luck charms! The BBS trio hadn't even shown up yet and it was giving me BBS feels because of the music!!!

Re:Coded was one big game/movie of feels. And the music in the HD version didn't help. THEY PLAYED "LINK TO ALL" FROM 3D IN AN ALREADY EMOTIONAL SORADONALDGOOFY SCENE.
Speaking of emotional scenes, was the scene right before Data-Sora fought Data-Riku a Final Episode reference? Or am I looking too deep into this?

Final Episode as in Aqua vs Terranort? I see the similarities, but I think it's just another case of someone being forced to fight a friend against their will. Similar scenario, but not really a connection.
