Thanks Kathleen. I don't have a cat at present, but I have had several as pets in my lifetime. Also dogs. I saw this photo, and I liked it, so I decided to draw it. I was getting a little tired of just drawing people's faces. Don't misunderstand me. I still like to draw portraits of people, but I also think it is good for me to draw something different occasionally. Before I started drawing faces, I drew and painted a lot of different things. But in order to learn how to draw faces, I had to concentrate on doing only that, until I began to see a resemblance on my paper to the person in a photograph.

I have a bunch of animal images collected. I just havent done anything with them.. i agree. I feel you have to draw different things to be a good artist. You are doing so well with colored pencil. I want to do more pastel work. No hurry . I'll get a wild hair soon. Have a great fay.

Thank you, my friend. It might have been better, if I had only taken more time to do it, but that is not how I work. I tend to work fast; too fast for my own good! I have honestly been trying hard to slow down, but all too frequently I revert to my old habits. I have patience for a lot of things, but patience does not often extend to my artwork. I always seem to be in a hurry, like I am being timed and I need to complete what I am doing in one evening. Maybe my age has something to do with this, because where I am now, I don't expect to have many more years left to live. When our five children were young, I did not have much time to draw or paint. Now that I have the time, I have been exploring other interests besides drawing and painting. Here is another icon you can add to your growing collection. I haven't seen it used before, but having added a Cheetah portrait to my Favorites today, I decided to type the following characters into a comment I was making to the artist, and they worked. : icon cheetah plz :

Yeah! Today is Cheetah day!!! I drew a Cheetah today! And the want to finish a portrait before the next the day ends is not because of your age I don't think. I have the same syndrome.

Thanks my friend! Thank you also for adding this one to your favorites. It does my soul good to occasionly change my drawing subjects. I have been on the Stars-portraits website for almost four years. The only items that site allows one to put on it, are portraits of people that are celebrities or characters that are recognized by many people. Thus, most of what I have drawn lately, has been portraits of famous people. I still enjoy drawing people's faces. They present a challenge to me. But I also think it is good to draw other things, as that broadens one's drawing skills. This site's requirements are more flexible. Maybe too flexible in some cases.
