I finished this picture in order for it to serve as an award image for the Inuyasha Feudal Association for the term starting March 1. It will be the image for Best Romance, either Artwork or Fiction (the head honchos of the FA can decide which it'll be for).This is an illustration of ~Resmiranda 's epic SessKag fic, "Tales From the House of the Moon". Yes, it's been FOREVER since I've done any illustrations for that fic. Unfortunately, this is not a new picture - the sketch has been in my scraps for at least 2 years now, and I've been colouring it for over a year. Finished it for the award!
Res has said it before - this scene in the fic would have to be one of the most romantic scenes... and they happen to be covered in dragon blood (and guts). Awww, those crazy kids!
I toned the blood down A LOT for it to be an award. Seriously, they were completely covered in it. If you think this is a lot, you should have seen it before.

Really, I don't think there's too much blood. I mean, I've read the scene in question and...yeah, lots of blood.
You did manage to make it look rather romantic despite the gore, which would be a difficult thing to pull off. I really like it.

This is gorgeous. I recalled that scene. Utterly romantic. Seriously, no joke. It was ... well, the look on Sesshoumaru's face in your picture says it all. Funny in a 'You look darling with the guts of your enemy dangling from your ear' but romantic because he was willing to remove them for her.

Seriously, this is a breath of fresh air. I haven't seen any new HotM stuff in a long time. So I'm glad you finished this, even though it was for the guild.
You did a great job lightening the feel of this pic with their expressions. And I love the subtle, white dragon scales in the bg. Poor Aiko... Excellent job!

It was about as romantic as it got for them in that fic (which was probably why I was so crazy for it when Res was writing it). It was totally gross - the dragon's guts exploded all over them. I wish I could have kept the blood, but it just wouldn't do for an award image.
