Just one thing though, I think eyelashes are on the bottom of the eyelid, not from inside the eye.

Good close ups of characters in similar situation.
If you include more of the face you can express more - also the eye opens to show more white above and below the iris in a situation of terror (perhaps not the sentiment here)
you could garner crunchyroll attention if you included ryuk instead of a skull - if that were you interest. If you've not seen death note, I have a feeling you will be soon.

I love the iris, but if i may make a suggestion, i think the eyelashes need to be thicker and longer mostly just the top lid, i feel like they are out of proportion.
