Wow... This was so much fun to work on. I started it at midnight, when that idea came to my head and I just had to draw it! ^^ It took me about 15 hours in total. I really like how it turned out! Hope you like it too!

I used this stock image: fav.me/d366pd4 by (I love that woman's look so much, haha xD) as a reference for the siren, but the whole picture is hand drawn.

first, i just have to say: THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! i absolutely and totally love the colour palette for this, its extremely well done. her sea dress strap thing just totally ties this whole pic together. i maybe wouldnt have added the bracelet, it draws away from her face a litle bit. her nails however are reallllyyyyycool i love em!her makeup is so simple, but really well done i love it.
you and ur sister are both extremely talented!

Well, its my first critique...

I would like to start with telling that from a non profesional look, i like the star-i-dont-know-what-its-called-in-English, because it just gives that touch like the fish. And her face looks like the fish a little, wich i noticed right now. xD
And i cant ay anything else that this is awesome. I like the detail, the bracelet, you just have that "touch"
You are one of my favorite deviants and i mean this from my heart. Good idea with the giveaway e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
And i dislike only one thing, but that is not much! I would love if the water was just one tone darker.....
Well, youre amazing! Keep up the good work!

Truly fantastic! There is not a bad word to be said about this piece. Your attention to detail is superb, and- as always- your texture and dimension is spot on. From the blur used on the bubbles in the foreground to the faded effect in the background, and back to the light reflection from the surface on the focal point; your style shines brightly through, and your realistic shading and lighting are truly breath-taking. The textures in the coral hair piece and star fish are so realistic and dimensional that it is as if I could reach out and touch it. The poem in the description sheds just the hint of light on the mystery in her expression- witch is amazingly captured. There is so much more to comment on! Her hair flows well in the water and the fish looks to be swimming right at me! the facial makeup, fins, and antenna are well placed for framing her face and eyes. Your shading is finally spot on. Once again you stun me! Great work!

Astounding piece of art work! Simply Magnificent, everything in the image is just TO ADORE.

I will surely enjoy critiquing this..

I'll start with the background, the background looks nice with the rippled water, the fish and a few bubbles along with blurs. The background's colors are perfect and match with the character of the image as well.

The character of the image, has been created with perfection. Her expression, and her long stare make you watch those eyes and study her more closely. She has been colored quite nicely and a little effect of the rippled water falling on her face looks amazing. The colored eyes and the designs on her face all seem appealing as well. Her bracelet, naturally made looks great. And the growth of life on herself [Right Shoulder and below] looks somewhat magnificent.

This whole image has a grace and extravagant feeling put into it. I really adore this image, and truly appreciate your work. A great job done on this piece and I hope to see more from you soon. Good job, and keep it up.

I really like how you've incorporated a lot of different colors into this. I'm one to usually keep an eye out for small details as well, so the skin and lighting are good. On that point, I'd like to point out that the coral piece in her hair (I believe that's what it is, sorry if I'm wrong) looks almost unreal, not because of detail, but because of lighting, same with the area around the eyes. Other than that there's only one more thing I can point out; which is that the right eye looks a bit off, in my opinion it should be in a bit more and maybe lower. Again, the amount of detail is amazing, from almost every scale on the fish to the sunlight beaming through the water in the background, which really adds a nice finish to the painting.

wow. i love it when artists pay attention to detail.
though what caught my eye to this particular piece would have to be the eyes. The subtle glow of the light green while the red eye paint accentuates the entire face to direct focus on the eyes. perfect. Her expression also captures a possessive type feel which matches well with the title 'the deep is mine' . i don't know if you meant for the backgrounds of blues to blur like that, but i find that it was a good decision on your part. the blur affect, again, creates more focus on the actual subject of the piece which is the lady or mermaid, siren? well since the poem at the bottom relates to sirens luring in sailors from the sea, i assume she's a siren. Aside from all the good stuff, i don't favor the added fish near her face as it can distract and looks just a tad bit out of place. Anyways amazing piece, i look forward to seeing more of your art e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

I could say that this piece is stunning, but that doesn't really seem adequate for an artistic work of this caliper. The color scheme incorporates the most well represented hues in the beauty of the ocean. The shades of blue, green and purple descend in the piece to give a clear sense of the depth of the sea for the setting, while also providing a visually stimulating backdrop. The crimson detailing catches the eye and adds a fire to the piece that would otherwise be lacking.

The texturing is so diverse and carefully implemented that it adds a living polish to the wonderful composition.

The lighting is bright enough to show beauty, but the shadows are dark enough to leave mystery both for the sea as a whole, and for the creature that the piece focuses on (I assume that she is a mermaid).

I honestly can't say enough about the details. The coral hair piece is exquisite, and when combined with the shell bracelets, adds a sense of humanity to our creature in question. Yet, the other features, the gill-like slits on the cheeks, the fins that span the head and the antennae (I think inspired by shrimp) mark her as clearly not human. The fish scales on the left side of her face are another cool detail. All in all, between the sea urchins, the 10 fish and the 2 whales in this piece, it is clear that a great deal of thought went into embellishing this picture.

The companion-like fish is a perfect addition I think, complimenting the mermaid seamlessly and tying her into the environment that they're a part of.

Last but certainly not least, let's address her face. It is without a doubt the focal point of the piece, and it's beautiful, strange, enticing, but there's also something about it that hints at danger. If you stare into those eyes for long enough you'll know what I mean.

To me, this picture perfectly represents the essence of the ocean. It is enchantingly beautiful, teeming with life, deep and powerful, and while it's not openly hostile, nor is it safe. It is a sparkling gem that we can never grasp for long.

This is a breathtaking piece. The colors and contrast are absolutely wonderful and the pallet truly draws you in.
However, I have to say that there is almost a striking difference between the more aquatic detail and the almost overly human facial features. It is enough to pull you back slightly from the piece as a whole.
I believe the scale detail along the temple is a wonderful touch and perhaps if it were brought more into the face it would be a little smoother of a transition. Especially when coupled with the other amazing aquatic details you have going in her features.
Looking at it in full view makes me realize that maybe it is the nose and mouth features that are almost overly human and not the face as a whole. Maybe a detail with the lips' texture or a slight change in the angle of the nose?
Overall I think this is great work, I love the feel and the expression. The detail in the coral on her shoulder is amazing and I love that the fish looks like it's coming right out of the image. The lighting is beautiful and the reflective detail is flawless. You truly have a wonderful talent.

The first word that came to me when looking at this is "mesmerising." There seems to be so much feeling packed into her lovely eyes. They give off an imperious aura suggestive of the title. Not just her eyes, but I find that her face gives this work most of its magic: the smooth textures of her skin and the crisp lines of her markings are stunning. The coral in her hair is a very nice touch, balancing out the overall cool colours of the underwater scene.

While I do enjoy the splashes of deep red here and there, I think the intensity of the colour is a little overpowering. I only find this odd because much of the piece is bathed in an almost-mystical blue-green light. Another thing, I found was that the fish's anatomy feels off since the fins of one side of its body look a lot bigger than the other.

This is an great piece of work that any digital artist should be proud of. Excellent job!

Absolutely astonishing! Now this is art e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d… " width="21" height="15" alt="" title="I am a dummy!"/> Her eyes are very mesmerizing and draw a lot of the attention, very true to the little poem in the decription e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
There can be no doubt that she's a mermaid, I love how you did her and all the details.
The overall composition is very great. I love the fish and the starfish, they look great and gives a 3D feeling of this picture. I absolutely love the starfish that's draped on her shoulders, never seen that detail before e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
The colours are well chosen, and very fit for the ocean and gives a good contrast.
