Biography (in English only)

Early Life
It was during the ongoing period of Cold War. On April 22, 1970, a female Korean jet named Cho Shi-san was born in the private hangar at Livermore Municipal Airport , in LivermoreCalifornia, United States. She was born to the disciplined, traditional Buddhist-Confucian Korean family. Her father Cho Dong-Man (조동만 / 曺東晚) is a Korean Classical Chinese linguist and her mother Yu Song-Su (유송수 / 柳頌繡) was once a member of a Korean community in San Francisco Bay Area . Shi-san grows up learning Korean from her family by studying both Hangul (한글) and Hanja (漢字). When she was 4 years old, she went to a Korean school to continue learning Korean, which she learns it very fluently. She even learned a lot of information about the Korean culture and the important customs. Shi-san entered kindergarten at the age of 5, learning English. At first, she felt very shy as she meets different students. But one day at breaktime, Shi-san was reading one book that caused her to feel in love with the main character, which is: Madeline  by Ludwig Bemelmans . That caused her teacher Miss Grover and her school principal Mister Despin both decided to adopt that English name for her, which she's now named as Madeline Cho Shi-san. She is very happy and appreciated by the results. Her family even bought her the new Madeline book and the plushie to keep for her own. At third grade, Madeline even started taking Chinese language at the nearby Chinese school.

Although Madeline made some friends throughout her elementary school, however, things changed around her next school careers. Because of social problems, most of her friends separated her, causing her to have less support. While working in middle school, Madeline unfortunately suffered some severe bullies as she walks to her next class, or walking around the campus. Some students yelled strong racial slurs at her. Feeling hurt, Madeline cannot seek for help, nor make anymore friends. The middle school teachers that she has do not show support to her, because they often ignore her questions and opinions, and even silenced her, preventing her from speaking up! Everyday at that time, before her morning class starts, the principal announces the entire students to stand up and look at the flag of the United States to say the "Pledge of Allegiance" to it. But for Madeline, she goes opposite, she stands at the flag, but faces down on the desk, and not saying the pledge. Her teacher looked at Madeline with strong eyes, and uses the metal pole to hit her on the head, for not looking up at the flag.

Madeline even got into few terrible situations at middle school. One day, while learning at the English class at her last year at middle school in 1983, her English teacher received the "urgent-mail" from the American government, which says that Madeline got drafted to the American military, because it stated that she is a "American-made" fighter jet that is suitable to fight for the nation. Madeline then got very shocked by the mail, and tries shouting: "I REFUSE!" in both English and Korean to the class. However, her teacher and all of her classmates then use strong forces back at her. All classmates yell racial slurs and death threats at Madeline, as they keep trying to force her to be in the military. They trapped her, with two students yanked her body outside the classroom and pushed her face to the drinking fountain very badly. And the other classmates use their heavy textbooks and their baseball bat to hit her body parts. Unfortunately, her teacher never contacted the principal, and continues to yell death threats at Madeline. But one of the staffs that saw the bullying, hurried and contacted the principal to call the police to come to the school hallway. Madeline's classmates didn't stop hitting her, as she got severe bloodstains around her. Just then, 10 policemen hurried in, and yanked and arrested the teacher and all classmates, while one female police chief checked on Madeline, crying hardly, and carefully take her to the nurses' office. While in there, the police chief called Madeline's family to come over, feeling shocked. The staff and the principal explained everything about the incident, and the second staff gave the military draft mail to the principal, and apologized Madeline's family for the incident, claiming it was a total discrimination. Since then, the principal contacted the governor of California to report the "discriminated mail" as the illegal move to the American government. Unfortunately, the government refused to declared the move illegal, which caused the governor to have no choice but to only tell the principal to make his own decision. Because Madeline is graduating from middle school that year, he decides to keep her until her graduation. He and the staff then hire a Chinese-American female student bodyguard named Louise Chen (陳潔晶) to help her with learning abilities for the rest of the school year. Both Louise and Madeline spoke Chinese to each other, creating a partnership.

Because Louise knew that Madeline needs extra support, she then decides to go to the same high school as Madeline goes. Things got somehow good at their first high school years, however, things got more terrible. During the second year of high school in 1986, a pack of Madeline's classmates in her history class forced her to come with them to watch the American-supremacy movie "Top Gun " in the theater, which caused her to be very offended by their demand. Madeline refused, but couldn't defend herself easily. The teacher wasn't inside the classroom at that time. Her classmates yell death threats at her, as well as beating her up by using the chairs from their desks to severely hit her on the face and the body, bringing her vommiting a lot of blood. They took her outside the classroom and continuing to beat her in the hallway. Louise, who came out of the bathroom, got frightened to see Madeline being beaten, and tried to defend Madeline by stopping the students by arguing against them, but failed. The two students all fight back against Louise and suddenly stabbed her with a sharp axe in her head to the brain! Louise died after they yanked her down on the floor next to the locker. Feeling terrified, Madeline cried as she sees dead Louise with bloods around her. The students then yell more death threats at both Madeline and Louise until they left the hallway to try to prevent themselves from being in trouble. Just then, more teachers and students came out of the classroom. Madeline's teacher came back inside the hallway, hearing Madeline still crying next to Louise's corpse. She got shocked and called the principal to come and investigate the scene. The principal heard the information from the teacher after Madeline explained everything to her, then called the ambulance to take both Madeline and Louise to the hospital, but the crew members used the big bag to wrap Louise's corpse after they noticed her dead. The principal announced all of the teachers and students to leave school immediately, until the school suddenly got closed for the big investigation. The police chief came and sent tons of the policemen to search for the students that beaten both Madeline and Louise and arrest them. Because the scene turned into the biggest murderous situation, Madeline's and Louise's family both came to the hospital at the same time. Louise's family cried as they see their daughter's corpse being sent to the morgue. They all turned to Madeline's family, the principal, and the teacher, and then hugged them tightly. Her middle school principal came and unite together with the Madeline's supporters to form a group that dedicates to support Madeline's life.

Meanwhile, things turned no good as the American society keeps changing from time to time. More racist, especially so called "white supremacy" and even political oppositions are making all of Madeline's supporters showing great fear towards the entire nation, feeling afraid as America is still fighting against the Soviet Union and other communist nations, which they opposed to the war on communism. Louise and Madeline's family unfortunately couldn't decide on how to handle the decisions. So, Louise's family decided to give up and live back at their hometown in China, so they brought their daughter's remains back with them. Feeling overwhelmed, Madeline's family decided to stay in the United States for few more years to make sure Madeline graduates from the high school, and will keep trying to manage their life safety.

After the murder students got arrested few weeks ago, the high school reopened after half of a month. As Madeline re-enters, her high school principal and her new-hired private therapist who is a Russian (Soviet) American female jet named Mrs. Molchalin came and have her safely guided Madeline to the classroom. Her teacher as well as the other teachers all turned to Madeline and showed great support by waving their heritage flag and South Korean flag to show a great "re-welcome" for Madeline. Mrs. Molchalin's duty is to make sure Madeline stays safe, so she is required to stay in every classroom to watch Madeline learn peacefully, by sitting next to her and giving her smiles and hugs. After learning for few more years with much great support, Madeline then successfully graduated from high school in 1988. She thanked her supporters, including Mrs. Molchalin for the greatest support until they cannot meet or support each other again.

Middle Life
Madeline decides to attend college at the Las Positas College . However, things changed for the entire family. The next year in 1989, Madeline's grandparents that currently lives in South Korea are experiencing some life difficulties. That made her family telling Madeline that they'll be staying in South Korea temporarily to care for their family, leaving Madeline here to continue focusing on her college career. While studying, Madeline often got into some horrible dreams about the past incidents that she suffered. Because of that, she sometimes lose focus when learning more advanced education with less support. At around December at that year, while Madeline was taking a stroll in the city of San Francisco , one of the strangers purposely threw a empty wine bottle at Madeline's head, without noticing each other. But, few strangers laughed at her as they are teasing Madeline with some discriminative words. Madeline tries to run away, but the strangers then ran after her! Two policemen heard the running steps, noticing Madeline being chased by the strangers. Madeline unfortunately tripped on the sidewalk as she ran across San Francisco Chinatown. The policemen then caught the strangers very quickly, while one of them checks on Madeline's injuries. Her head got bloods coming out badly. They called the ambulance to take Madeline to the county hospital to receive some medical treatment. Discovering that her family is currently in South Korea, the doctors told Madeline to stay in the hospital for a week. Feeling overwhelmed by what happened in San Francisco, Madeline then overthinked about a lot of negativities that she suffered, that she often cried when trying to focus on her college. She got discharged from the hospital after a week, then rushed back to Livermore. After suffering much more unsafe environment, Madeline feels like very tired of living in the United States, and decides to get away with this violent society.

Then the next year in 1990, after struggling to take more required college courses because of her scary past, Madeline decided to not come back to the campus to attend any more lectures. Few days passed, she secretly disappear and "disenrolled" herself from Las Positas College, spent an hour and a half cleaning out her private hangar and then sold it to the future residents. Feeling sad as she leaves without having the college know her disappearance, Madeline secretly takes off from the airport to prevent from being caught by the American officials. She have the last look at California and the entire nation of the United States until she flew up in the sky across the Pacific Ocean. After flying for few hours, Madeline descends down as she almost reached the city of Pohang  (포항시 / 浦項市),  South Korea, which is her ancestral city and where her family lives. The weather there was heavy raining as Madeline calls the control tower at the Pohang Airport  (포항공항 / 浦項空港), requesting for the emergency landing. It got accepted and she landed safely at the runway. Because of her health urgency, the police cars and one ambulance truck then came to secure Madeline, by placing her into a ambulance, and taking her to a nearby hospital.

When arrived at the hospital, Madeline was then taken to a mental health therapist to have a long interview and her reasons to come to South Korea urgently. The therapist feels very sad to hear about her disappointing life experiences back in the United States, and how she got forcefully drafted to the military by the American government that she refused to, which caused her to dislike the American society. He understands Madeline's words until he then use a calligraphy brush to write down three Hanja characters to her, which reads "Tal-mi-ja"/ 脫美者 (탈미자), meaning "American defector". Madeline listens to the therapist's explanation about this creative word, which completely states that she was "honored" to have this name, because of how Madeline became the first and only female fighter jet to escape from the United States to have a better life in South Korea. The therapist called her family to come quickly to the hospital to see Madeline and talk with the therapist. Her family felt very worried about Madeline's urgent actions, so they came to give a big family hug to Madeline and cried together. After the long interview, the therapist discharged Madeline. She and her family then flew back to the hangar safely. Madeline's family knew that Madeline didn't eat anything before flying, so they prepared a big late night meal for her to eat, which she ate rice with some banchans  (반찬 / 飯饌), mandu (만두 / 饅頭), gwamegi  (과메기; a common food in Pohang), and even a bowl of kimchi-jjigae  (김치찌개). They smiled like sad as they watched Madeline eat slowly. Her family even helped her took a long bath until they took her to sleep. Madeline unpacked her "Madeline" items and placed it next to her permanent bed and the desk.

The next day, because Madeline is still supposed to continue with her college career, Madeline's family helped Madeline apply for few universities that she decides to study in, and even helped her to apply for South Korean citizenship, which takes few years to achieve it. At first, Madeline is required to take the CSAT  (수능 / 修能), in order to enroll. So, Madeline used one year and a half of concentration on studying and refreshing her knowledge, by reading a lot of books. She then took the CSAT at Pohang High School (포항고등학교 / 浦項高等學校), receiving the highest score.

Madeline finally got enrolled at Pohang University (포항대학교 / 浦項大學校) for 2 years until she transferred to Handong University  (한동대학교 / 韓東大學校) in 1994, mastering law. At that time, Madeline became very happy and peaceful with her new college environment—she made some new friends which brings her much more support. Especially in Handong, she gain popularity by being a "most unique student leader" around the campus. One day in 1995, the university held a big conference meeting for Madeline to have a long speech to the students about her escape from the United States to South Korea. She speaks both Korean and English at her speech, sadly explaining about how the American society turned very different from time to time. Most students felt saddened by how "poor" Madeline's early life is, and they all show respect to her beliefs. Before the end of her speech, Madeline took out a big calligraphy paper with the three large Hanja characters "Tal Mi-ja" that she wrote using her calligraphy brush, and showed it to the students and spoke out the statement, which surprises them. After the speech, some students came up and made friends with Madeline. She continues to have good environment in the university, learning hard on the required courses and other course interests, earning a lot of good grades. Interestingly, outside the university, Madeline even continued to learn the Chinese language at a nearby Chinese school. (Madeline started learning Chinese as a teenager back in the United States) Few years passed, Madeline then finally graduated from both the university and the Chinese school in 1997. The same year, Madeline finally obtained her South Korean citizenship. She felt very happy that her life is finally becoming much more comfortable and peaceful.

Later Life
Madeline couldn't decide on what to do on her next career, so her friends helped her with the decision. A friend said that because she's a fighter jet that doesn't want to be in a military, but supports the Korean reunification, he recommends her to only learn the military skills, such as flying fast with advanced skills, as well as using military weapons when defending the nation. So, she was taken to a private academy to learn the skills. While learning, another friend also recommends her to learn the taekwondo (태권도 / 跆拳道) and boxing as well, because she does have more fighting abilities using her body. Madeline used 3 years of learning with few kind, professional masters. She learns and practices very fluently, with good abilities. A professional master complemented Madeline that she has the total inspiration from an American legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali (born Cassius Clay), whom she actually knew him when she first lived in the United States. Madeline thanked, and told him the inspirational quote:

"主體思想(주체사상)를 反對(반대)하지 않는다. 나를 양키스라고 부른 韓國人(한국인)은 없다고 말했다."

(“I got nothing against no Jucheism. No Korean ever called me a Yankee.")

Madeline's quote is very strong with full pride. The master felt surprised, but respects by giving hug to her, stating that she is considered as "neutral" or "supportive" to the ideology in northern part of Korea, Jucheism (주체사상 / 主體思想), since she loves the entire Korean Peninsula.

After being fluent in required skills, Madeline decided to use few decades of studying the Korean linguistics, especially continuing to learn Hanja in various literatures from history to culture. She bought a lot of books and reads it, mostly inside her hangar or outside around Pohang. She even continues to read some books in English and Chinese to increase her abilities in communications. While reading, she takes the part-time jobs in different environments, such as working as a librarian, as well as work-substituting for a local bookstore, local museums, or the Pohang Airport. Madeline even get herself into politics, because she supports the Korean reunification. So she often join the reunification movements whenever there is one in the future.

In the late 2000s, Madeline even got hired to become a part-time actor, acting as few minor characters in only few movies and TV dramas. Every entertainment that Madeline acts does have sad and tragic moments, when it comes to her acting a character that commits suicide. Although Madeline never have any suicidal thoughts in her life, but she states to herself, saying that she likes performing suicides in entertainment, because of her scary past backgrounds that affects her identity, making her feeling she is somehow "unsafe" in the life, claiming that "there'll be more threatening things" that'll eventually come to her. She also said it is very "touchable". The information spread across the nation, as it publicly stated that "South Korea has several suicides in the past until nowadays". Some Korean citizens felt shocked to hear Madeline's statement, as she stated about "performing suicide", so portions of Korean citizens decided to watch and follow Madeline's mental health by becoming her "die-hard" fan, because of them giving support to her career and making sure that Madeline does not perform the "real suicide" to herself. Surprisingly, after performing more suicidal minor characters for few years, Madeline then got into self-education on suicidology

Madeline continues with her career of linguistics and suicidological studying and part-time jobs for the next years of her life, but does not do anymore part-time acting nowadays.

In 2017, a strongest earthquake struck Pohang. Madeline's hangar suffered damages, with the rooftop and the wall collapsed, destroying almost much of their belongings. Madeline and her family got injured and got sent to hospital to stay inside for a month as a shelter. While staying, some construction workers re-construct their hangar until it got fully repaired after a month, new but with the same look. The entire family then felt better and continues to live inside the new, repaired hangar.

In 2018, Madeline was shocked by the breaking news about the sudden suicide of a jet, which is a air force jet Cameron Han (한비웅 / 韓飛雄) 's younger brother named Jackson Han (한비문 / 韓飛文) . So, she flew to their home city, Busan (부산 / 釜山) to join up with the mourners and watch Jackson's state funeral. After the event, Madeline wanders around Busan for few months until the day comes as Madeline found Cameron and walks up to him, acting cute. Cameron got surprised as he looks at Madeline's face and her body. Madeline was very sorry to hear about his loss of his brother. They talked to each other about their lives, until she then politely offered Cameron to be her boyfriend, and he totally accepts it. Showing similar and equal interests and views, they both fall in love as Cameron started calling Madeline the "cute ordinary jet". They started to contact each other often as they fly between two cities when meeting each other's families. Madeline and her family all picked up every information of Cameron's brother Jackson's ideology: Hanism (한주의 / 韓主義), which believes the unity the entire Korean people into one nation, supporting the reunification, that Madeline shows the big interest in joining Cameron's minor political party: “New Korean Central Reunification Party” (신한중앙통일당 / 新韓中央統一黨), becoming a proud "Hanist" that she'll have her permanent duty to preserve Jackson's thoughts to complete the unity for the nation.

After sticking each other for a lot of days, in 2020, Madeline became a fiancée to Cameron, Then, it finally came in October 20, 2021 that they successfully proposed to each other and even got married afterwards!

Personal Life
In free time, Madeline often likes to fly in the sky to practice flying skills, as well as practicing more military skills in a gymnasium. She even do taekwondo, boxing, and running as for exercise. Besides just doing a lot of researching Korean linguistics and politics for most of the times, Madeline can do some hobbies, like drawing pictures, Korean calligraphy, reading newspapers, singing songs, and playing with her Madeline plushie.

Although Madeline is happy with her life in South Korea, however, things got back to worse times. Starting from the late 2019, its "radical-democratic" government is increasing more power under the so called National Security Act  (국가보안법 / 國家保安法), which unfortunately silenced Madeline and Cameron's support of the Korean reunification, all because of pro-rivalries against the North Korean Juche government and even the increasing of the American militarism. That causes their lives to become back to being sad and offended by its government's rights, and forced themselves to keep their words to themselves.
