("I'm actually a Shaanxi person...")

Although Ga-Kwok (Edmonton) was born in Hong Kong, but his families' ancestry is from Shaanxi Province (陝西省), which lays on the central of China. Therefore, Ga-Kwok is very proud of his native Chinese ancestry.

Ga-Kwok is in his "biaodi" (表弟) or his cousin's apartment at Shaanxi Province. His cousin name is Wu Ningcheng (伍寧城), and he is the only current living family member of the Ga-Kwok's entire family, while all of his family members are all resting in heaven peacefully. They haven't seen each other for long time since they first known each other when they are babies.

About Ningcheng, he was born in 1924 (one year after Ga-Kwok was born) in a village in Shaanxi Province. He sometimes visited Hong Kong to meet Ga-Kwok and have gatherings with each other. They like to read and research books, writing notes, performing Chinese operas, singing songs, and more. They really love each other so much. However, by the time the Japanese empire invaded China in 1937, including Hong Kong in 1941, they were unfortunately separated by traveling out to different places. Ningcheng went back in Shaanxi Province and remain there for most of his life. After the Japanese invasion ended in 1945, Ga-Kwok came back to his house, but Ningcheng actually couldn't visit Ga-Kwok often, because he's under some community work during his school career. In 1949, the communist government in China got established. Ningcheng joined the Communist Party of China (中國共產黨) in 1951, and lived most of his life during the leadership of Chairman Mao Zedong (毛澤東), doing hard labors and participating in every gatherings of communist (Maoist) comrades, such as movements and revolutions. A year after Chairman Mao's death, Ningcheng then proceeded to the next career of becoming a social community leader for the entire Shaanxi Province, as well as making nutritious soups for the community in Shaanxi Province, for which he still does that nowadays in his later life.

Anyway, in this drawing, Ga-Kwok is at Ningcheng's apartment holding a big sheet of paper with a handwritten Chinese character.

This character is pronounced: biáng in Mandarin Chinese. It represents a unique type of Chinese noodles in the entire Shaanxi Province, the "biángbiángmiàn" (biángbiáng麵 / biángbiáng面) , or "biángbiáng noodles", which is a hand-made thickness noodle that's served with some tasty toppings. It takes some characters to create into one character. It definitely has up to 58 strokes for the traditional character (shown in this drawing), and 42 strokes for the simplified character, which it is considered to be the most complex Chinese character. The origin of the biáng character and its noodles are still considered unclear, with various views. The biáng character is actually not shown in every modern Chinese dictionaries, and you definitely can type it, when using Mandarin Pinyin or Bopomofo, but CANNOT show its character, because of more strokes, and it's hard to show this character in small apperarences, or in different unique or creative fonts. Around Shaanxi Province, the biáng character in traditional writing script are mostly shown in some signs of the biángbiáng noodle restaurants. A font writing system foundation, called Unicode did encode the biáng character this year of 2020, but still no standardization occurred on every electronic devices. As for right now, the Chinese people can type biángbiáng noodles, like: 彪彪面 (biāobiāomiàn) or 冰冰面 (bīngbīngmiàn), etc. for phonetic substitution. Big portion of people use the pinyin method name instead. Besides the pronunciation for Chinese language, Vietnamese has its own pronunciation, which is pronounced as Bương.

He first learned this character since he was a little (Riolu), and took a lot of practice on writing this character until he then became fluent when he became a Lucario. Ga-Kwok also love eating the biángbiáng noodles as well, which is considered one of his favorite foods. So, he's known to show a big pride towrads his native Chinese ancestral culture. Ga-Kwok still loves Ningcheng very much, but doesn't visit each other often nowadays. They only visit each other, when either of them feels like it, or if there's an very important things going on.
