You may see Manchester as a celebrity to you, but he actually is... sort of. Besides just working in the military, Manchester is also a part-time actor (兼職演員) in Chinese entertainment industries. However, he doesn't act in many movies or TV dramas, because of his current big interests in the Chinese military (People's Liberation Army). Therefore, Manchester is not shown as entirely popular throughout some decades...

Manchester first started his part-time acting in mainland China during the mid-1950s (he was still a soldier at the time), starting off as acting in only few movies that were produced by the military and the government. All movies that Manchester acted are related to the military and the pro-communist revolution. So, he was a jet when performing acting skills, acting on flying in the sky and fighting at the wars with the other jet actors at that time. Manchester then took a long break from acting in 1980s, following the process of government reform, that he decided to continue working in the military to promote himself to become a general.

After starting to work at the airfield in Hong Kong, since the handover in 1997, in 2000, Manchester's beloved partner, Ga-Kwok (Edmonton) offered Manchester to join the Hong Kong's famous broadcast company, the Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB; 電視廣播有限公司). (Ga-Kwok first joined TVB in 1985) He accepted and signed the application, becoming as a part-time actor along with Ga-Kwok, stating that he restarted his acting industry. There, they choose their own TV dramas to act, pick their minor character roles, and act it. Interestingly, both Manchester and Ga-Kwok show their greatest talent skills in communicating bilingually in common Chinese languages, like they act their role in Cantonese (廣東話), and even do the voice-dubbing of their role in Mandarin (普通話). Both of them however didn't actually act in a lot of TV dramas, because they are very busy with political career, so they'll not always be in TVB for longer times to just act and voice dub for fun...

Besides being in TVB, Manchester even does part-time acting again in the mainland. Again, he does NOT do much of acting around the entertainment.

Both Manchester's and Ga-Kwok's beloved family got tragically murdered in 1967, leaving them the last and only son in the entire family clan. This personalities unfortunately made both started to feel like they'll rather act as a character with sad, relaxing and disciplined personality traits. Feeling less happy because of his ongoing grief to their family, Manchester and Ga-Kwok couldn't really feel like acting a happy or excited character for their entire life... So, DO NOT ever try to force Manchester and Ga-Kwok into acting on happy things...!
