Barry Allen was always an intelligent and top student throughout his life. He was bullied as a boy due to his big square glasses and because "he was a nerd". When the bullies would chase him back home from school, he wished he could just dash off into the distance and leave them behind. Of course, that was impossible.

S.T.A.R Labs hired him with his keen sense of mechanics and knowledge of chemistry. They wanted him to create a robot, one that wouldn't work on electricity but a new chemical liquid, almost like blood running through the body. The idea failed and Dr. Allen was left working on it in his lab.

Sleeping one night, a powerful dream came to him. It gave him an idea, all the mechanics behind a teleportation device. The chemical for the robot he'd created would be used to power the teleporter. Everything was laid out in the dream, and so the next day and two weeks after that, he'd created it with the dream occurring every night to refresh his memory.

Trying to teleport himself to Mars as an experiment, it failed and the machine malfunctioned. It blew up as he was inside it and the force threw him across the room and through all his beta chemicals he'd been testing. Dazed, the last thing he remembered was a dark figure leaving the room through the roof. But that was just before a loose wire electrocuted the puddle of chemicals he was lying in.

Waking up hours later, he washed himself off and went home feeling everything was fine. When he whistled a taxi to get home, he ran to get out of the rain and into the car but finding himself running straight past it and before he knew it he was at least 2 miles away. Confused, he carefully walked home.

After training himself and learning how to use these new found abilities of his, taking influence from already existing heroes that are helping the world for the greater good, he became the Flash. The second of that name...
