Description Alright - this is a chart of all 334 Copic Sketch Colors.

Most of the colors are accurate. A few of them are close, but a little off... The really pale ones at the top are a tiny bit too pale, and you've got to completely disregard the fluorescent colors in the far right column - for some reason my scanner won't read those ones right. If you've ever noticed that the fluorescent colors are really off on the stock charts that Copic has - the same thing happens here.

I had to paint dozens of watercolor pieces to sell to pay for this set - which went on for nearly a year. I litterally saved every cent I earned as I didn't want to buy anything until I could afford the whole set - and it was worth the wait because it's now my favorite medium to work with

I intend on creating individual pages of color charts that are devoted to each color family by themselves. I'd use a larger box for each sample, so hopefully the colors will end up looking entirely accurate. If anyone thinks something that would be useful, let me know and I'll post it once it's created.

Also, I wanted to mention where I bought my set (I hope they don't mind) - I got my set at copicmarkerS.com and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in buying. Their service was great and I'm pretty sure they're the only place you can buy a full set of 334 (when I got mine, Copic only had 322 colors...).

Hopefully someone can get some use out of this

Thanks for taking the time to put this color chart together. I've been looking for a way to keep track of the colors I want, not just the colors I have. This is it! I'm sure your set is impressive, but I don't think I'd use every color, so I'm collecting individual colors I like. BTW, I bought most of my markers at Michaels with a 45% off markers coupon. It excluded Crayola brand, but not Copic so I stocked up with 18 colors. I'm up to almost 50 now.

& I think that's the way to go - buying them a few at a time. Good luck in your collecting!

You seem cool and that, but I'm gonna have to hate you... I'm like the Copic King, and with your 434 markers, you're gonna make me look bad.
How long have you worked with Copic?

this is really helpful, thanks for making this chart!
this one is the closest thing I've seen to what the colors really look like. On the websites I've seen that sell Copics, the color samples look different from each page, so it's impossible to know what the colors really look like, but this is great!
I'm definitely gonna look at this before the next time I buy copics.
copicmarkerS.com looked like a nice place to get copics too. I don't think I can afford all the sets though.. I just recently found a set of 144 colors on a japanese site that was pretty cheap, or at least cheaper than buying two 72 marker sets so I'm saving up for that one ^^
Must be awesome having as many markers as you have, I bet. Would be nice seeing some more of what you've drawn with them Copics are starting to become my favorite medium to work with, too. It's addictive! ;D and great fun.

sorry, I'm talking too much

Joker08 In reply to nocturnalMoTH [2010-07-21 20:23:35 +0000 UTC]

I'm really glad it helps
I noticed how inaccurate the stock charts can be too, the only problem with mine is that the shade of each color varies by the amount of pressure I use, so some of the color chains don't show as much variation, as it is hard to consistantly cover each box from pen to pen.
Copics really are addictive! I have to kick myself sometimes to work in another medium - since Copics are so versatile and they've been exactly what I've needed my entire life And to have every color at my disposal is a huge help. I'd recommend, that even as long as it may take - and through whatever means necessary - try to get every color. You'll find that you can do virtually anything, drawing becomes such a liberating process when you have the potential for such great freedom.
And it may take awhile - I was fortunate enough to set aside my 'Copic Fund' so all of my money saved could go right for a full set. I sold a painting for $1000, which really sped things up So after I started saving, I was able to buy every set within a matter of months. Looking back, I don't know what I'd do without these fantastic things - I would seriously consider this my greatest investment
I'm hoping to get some new pics up soon - my scanner's down but I do have several new pieces I need to upload!
And you're not talking to much!
Just look at me

CRXTHRASHER [2010-07-02 20:57:26 +0000 UTC]

you seem pretty knowledgeable on the subject, so can you help me figure out what sets I should buy if I wanted all 334 but not from that website you listed?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Joker08 In reply to CRXTHRASHER [2010-07-04 19:34:37 +0000 UTC]

Sure
I was really worried about ordering from that site at first - obviously because it's a huge investment and the site seemed kinda second-rate... But I wanted to buy all 334 colors at once (there were only 322 at the time I bought mine), and it was the only site I find that offered that service.

But if you just want all 334 colors, you can get them at plenty of other stores - you just have to order the sets separately.

Since there is no actual 334 individual set - all they did was send me the Copic Sketch Sets 72 A,B,C,D, and the Copic Sketch Sets of Ex-1, Ex-2, Ex-3, and since Ex-4 wasn't out yet in the US, I had that imported from a Japanese website sometime later. Copic's "Sketch" Marker is their only Marker out in every color - but it's cool because its Brush is easily my favorite artistic tool to work with anymore. I absolutely love it.

So yeah. If you want all the colors, just order the Sketch sets of 72 Markers - A, B, C, and D, and the Ex-1, Ex-2, Ex-3, and Ex-4 sets, those each with 12 markers. Most people order the sets one at a time, and you can find them all over the web - but that site was the only place I found that offered them all bundled together.

Anyway, I hope that helps

Joker08 In reply to CRXTHRASHER [2010-07-11 14:04:45 +0000 UTC]

Sweet! Yeah, so if you're getting the 72 sets one at a time - I'd probably just get them in order - 'A' has got a great range of blues and basic balance overall, 'B' covers a nice lot of greens and paler colors, and a few good skintones. 1/3 of set 'C' is made of of grey markers - and it also contains a nice selection of earthtones. 'D' has a more random collection of colors and is the only set with no greys (since they're spread out throughout the first 3 sets), and it also has Copic's 8 'Fluorescent' colors. Sets Ex 1-4 basically add an expansion to the line - these sets have seemingly assorted colors that help fill in the gaps between shades. Except for Ex4 - which is Copic's latest addition of colors and their palest - in my opinion some of the most valuable colors they offer due to how subtle the color really is.

I really hope this helps and I'd love to hear how all this works out for you

I don't really know what CM is either. unlike the others in not one specific shade of one color cus it has like CM1 soft skin(so its a peach kinda color) and then CM27 coral sea(which is a blue color) so...i don't really know where to put them. lol

Its okay if you don't know im just putting them in a seperate bin for know.

Hmmmmm... That is very odd! I'm seriously lost about this one. I've been doing some research for you and I don't have the slightest idea! And to be perfectly honest, I really want to know myself!

I know that my Sketch marker BG23 is Coral Sea - BG meaning BlueGreen. And I don't have a Soft Skin - which is odd considering I have all the colors! The closest thing I have is R02 - Flesh, E00 - Skin White, E21 - Baby Skin Pink, YR61 - Yellowish Skin Pink...

The only thing I could guess is that those are older-model markers, which is actually really cool if that's the case. I wouldn't know for sure, as I'm not familiar with Copic's history - but I know Prismacolor markers are like that.

I don't doubt that those are Copics, as I imagine CM stands for Copic Marker - but do they look different from your other ones, as in older? Where did you get them? And do you know if they are Copic, Sketch, or Ciao? Because if they are in fact older, I imagine that they are just "Copics", because I think Sketch and Ciao came later.

Sorry for all of the questions - this is just interesting to me

blackrose8009 In reply to Joker08 [2010-04-13 22:55:02 +0000 UTC]

To be honest they do look older than the normal sets. The bar code is giant on one side at the flip side says "copic marks made in japan" and at the ends one says Super brush with a point and the other end says Medium round and its like in pointed shape of a normal marker.

I got these randomly when i was buying cheap sets people were selling on ebay. Its how i got alot of mine.(also getting many doubles) I only have 7 CM ones. I don't think there like extreamly rare or anything...but thats just a just a guess.

But thanks for you all your help. ^_^

Joker08 In reply to blackrose8009 [2010-04-24 19:18:09 +0000 UTC]

That is quite intriguing. I'd still really like to know exactly what those would be then

This is VERY interesting, considering that with markers they sell now, medium round is only available in a replacement/alternative nib. None of the markers come with it standard...

This is so odd what are the color names of the 7 you have, if you don't mind?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

blackrose8009 In reply to Joker08 [2010-04-24 20:30:41 +0000 UTC]

no i don't mind at all, lets see there is:
-CM1 Soft skin
-CM27 Coral Sea
-CM38 Grayish Violet
-CM51 Pond Green
-CM55 Straw Green
-CM66 Cappuccino
-CM68 Breao
And thats it. Going by the numbers, there seem to be a bunch more in between. but eh im not in particular looking for them.

CM are part of the "comic marker" line. From what I've seen online, they're not too common outside of Japan.

On the Copic official site in Japanese there's a list of the colors. Some are the same as other copic colors, but some are unique to the Comic Marker line. From what you have, it looks like all of your markers except CM27 (which =BG 23) are unique CM colors.

I don't think it's that they're older (I saw some a few months previous in Japan and they had a good stock of them), it's just another line that they have that's not as popular.

Hope that helps, random as it was!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

blackrose8009 In reply to xFullMetalxX [2010-07-07 12:53:35 +0000 UTC]

it does actually. My goal was to find out why they were differen't then all my other copics. And you answered that, so there a diffenrn't company producing another kind of copics. Thats neat. kinda XD

The only one i really liked was CM1 soft skin and like really good for skin color. And its almost all gone >_< So i'm thinking of getting another one from like ebay or somthin.

Thanks for your help ^_^

Excellent! Glad to help and I hope you can find what you need!

Well, it's actually the same company--Copic by .Too--it's just another line of markers. Like how they have original, sketch, ciao, etc. So, just another Copic variation by .Too

Joker08 In reply to blackrose8009 [2010-04-27 21:41:54 +0000 UTC]

Thank you And I'm thoroughly convinced those are older markers now. Which is really cool Grayish Violet (BV25) and Coral Sea (BG23) are the only colors that Copic still runs from that list. And I don't even know what a Breao is. They may still make those colors, just under different names. I don't know... But I'd use those ones sparingly, since you couldn't buy those colors in refills. I think this is so cool, thanks for bringing this up
