The red head said "fucking cool" in the last episode. Star Trek had someone say "fucking cool" when humanity at that point, at least those in Star Fleet, would never talk like that. It's the writers getting away with it because they're constrained by network TV standards, even though Star Trek was never about that anyway. They're trying to make the show "more current with the times" all while completely disregarding everything about the series. They set it over a decade before TOS but make everything look more futuristic, they give Spock another sibling for no other reason than to create some connection to TOS, they drastically change Klingons for no real reason and now they're completely ignoring humanity's maturity when it comes to language.

The “sjw cesspool” is a load of bull. People just have this weird thing where if a show has an abundance of minority characters and the studio making that show in any way acts proud of that, it’s suddenly a big problem and “sjw crap”. The studio made a fuss about the captain on the show being a black woman and apparently that is a HUGE PROBLEM unless we never ever draw attention to it. So now a bunch of reactionaries are going to go apeshit about the show’s existence because they’ve pre-judged it based on very superficial nonsense. They also seem to forget that star trek has always been progressive and had a multi-cultural cast, its just that they weren’t born at the time those other shows came out so they don’t have a built-in bias to be super-upset about that kind of thing.

And the original Klingons were representative of communism. And the half-black half-white aliens represented racism. And one episode had them go to a planet that modeled its society after straight-up nazi germany. Commenting on social issues isn’t above Trek’s modus operendi either.
And if you look at how the showrunners have talked about it, it sounds like a lot more than what it’s made out to be: “The allegory is that we really started working on the show in earnest around the time the election was happening,” showrunner Aaron Harberts told Entertainment Weekly. “The Klingons are going to help us really look at certain sides of ourselves and our country. Isolationism is a big theme. Racial purity is a big theme. The Klingons are not the enemy, but they do have a different view on things. It raises big questions: Should we let people in? Do we want to change? There’s also the question of just because you reach your hand out to someone, do they have to take it? Sometimes, they don’t want to take it. It’s been interesting to see how the times have become more of a mirror than we even thought they were going to be.”
This sounds a lot more complicated and substantial than a simple “hurr durr klingons bad trump supporters bad and evil killem all.” I don’t know how the show will eventually play out but the way they’ve sold it hints at it being more than just a simple black-and-white.

You do realize this show went into production and was written prior to the election results being known, yeah? TV shows arent written the day that they air, they get planned and produced well in advance of the actual showtime dates. They would not have known what the results would be and thus they don’t really have a pre-planned pityparty for the presidential loss. Even if Hillary had won that wouldn’t have stopped them from being able to create the Kingons exactly as they are now with thier isolationist & racist fundamentalism. It’s not like all the trump supporters would have disappeared into the aether if Hillary won.
And Yeah there is no way in hell I’m watching a Computing Forever video. That dude is a lunatic. I avoid the kinds of people that can’t go 5 minutes without seeing a "cultural marxist" conspiracy in every single iota of daily life. We are allowed to make decisions to protect ourselves and if that means shutting down the boarder
and doing things to our nations benefit, then so be it.

Not the violence (this being a superhero story, after all) but the relentless negativity about humanity and the nature of heroes. With The Punisher it works (and is, indeed, key to the character's nature) but they seem determined to drag the rest of the Defenders down the same path. I'd watch the Snyderverse DC films if I wanted that!
Oh, and I hate the fact that they can't seem to have Luke Cage on screen for more than ten minutes without an explicit sex scene.

Mostly they looked the same. Part from that one original series episode. But that was explained later on. That was a pretty well done DS9 episode 
This new "look" or what it is. Plus they way they act and sound. It don't make me think of Klingons. They seem more like a new race of aliens or something.
