I personally don't get why people are getting all antsy about a crossguard lightsaber, since I watched a demonstration with a dueling sword meant to be akin to a zweinhander (two-handed greatsword with VERY long crossguards).
What I WILL get antsy about is how Disney decided how the expanded Universe is now in the fire, pretty much telling over thirty years of great material to go f*ck itself. Therefore cortosis, phrik and Mandalorian iron don't exist, therefore this design IS then pointless in lightsaber combat.
