Well, according to Wikipedia, Rainmaker Entertainment (formerly Mainframe Entertainment) has a sequel series, "ReBoot: The Guardian Code" in development now. Corus Entertainment, a Canadian Broadcast company, has ordered a 26 episode season.Β

Reading more on it, I have to agree with you. It's like Rainmaker watched an old episode of "Code Lyoko" and said "Hey, lets make a version of this and tie it into ReBoot! Let's just handwave away the fact that the concept does not match the universe at all!" -_-
On the other hand, Rainmaker/Mainframe is horribly bad at finishing a production they've started, so (hopefully) this will never see the light of day.
