you're not the only one, wish i lived somewhere it was always cold, at least you can avoid the cold by wrapping yourself up in blankets, ain't nothing to escape the heat.

What sucks about summer heat is the boob sweat... among many other things...

Helga is a heroine in her own right.
Not all of them wear tight spandex, fishnets or latex catsuits.
(Those are for the other seasons). ~_^

Bikinis. Booty shorts. Crop tops. Little flouncy dresses and skirts. When you are complaining about the bastard summer heat, remember it is the heat that makes these things possible.
Which probably doesn't help with your comfort levels. Sorry.

Also, I'd like to point out, its still that hot today. And we have no air conditioning.

You call us silly but meanwhile degrees Celsius is still the scientifically second most logical measuring unit after Kelvin.

Technically the same story with meter: about one big step, and kilogram: some French idiot thought he was a scientist and just made up a measurement.

TastyMoonCheese In reply to usversionofme [2019-07-01 23:51:29 +0000 UTC]
Yeah XD
But hey, someone had to start somewhere. centigrade and kelvin make logical sense, and they're based on important physics rules. I think grams are actually based on legit physics as well, as one gram of water is exactly one cubic centimeter in volume.

The metric system is far superior to the imperial system, because all the units correspond by a factor of ten, and they have useful correlations, such as 1 cc of water being 1 gram. Medicine, science, and even the military have switch to the metric system. It's just easier. Β I happen to be an American, so I raised on the imperial system. Β Most manufacturers today use metric parts. Even companies like Ford, GM and Chevy.Β
My true appreciation of the metric system came when I was in the USA military. Doing calculation in miles and furlongs just sucks. Β In metric, no problem!
Oh, and the USA defines the foot by how many millimeters it is... Β ^_*

I agree entirely; save for temperature.Β F makes more sense in a 'day to day' fashion than C (however for scientific measurements, even in regards to temp, C makes more sense).

I've lived through an Aussie heatwave of 40-45 degrees C without an air con, only fans and cold drinks from the fridge. It sucked, but it wasn't lethal. Granted I didn't do anything but melt and complain about the heat for the whole week.

Jekili24 In reply to LavaBatA1 [2019-06-29 05:09:29 +0000 UTC]
Ouchies. That must have been bad...Yeah for normal people that kind of thing is survivable but for the young and the old or those with disease. That is when it gets dicey. Glad we only get to about 40 C before night fall. My city is at 1627 meters so when night falls and the sky is clear, it gets cool quickly. Being a desert helps a lot as well, low humidity means less heat retention at night.Β
