A critic will look at a piece of work they donβt like and pass comment, then pose a potential solution.A whiner will look at a piece of work they donβt like, then burst into tears, shrieking about how the artist has specifically set out to offend them, and never actually says anything constructive. Like this;
"Personally, I find your work to show an extreme lack of originality and taste.
It makes me extremely upset to see you getting so much attention with your soft-core furry smut but that's what your watchers want, so whatever!
Your drawings remind me of women on steroids, unattractive and unnatural.
You're a comic artist who really can't grasp any good concepts to get attention so instead draws furries with their boobs popping out. HOW ORIGINAL! : D
Oh, and lol, how almost every one of your 'stories' involves girls (of numerous animal types, but, you know, no connection to bestiality ) grow huge boobs for no reason.
I wish you would please, as the one and only favor I will ever as you to do for me, please please just quit drawing.

I will, of course, set all of my drawing equipment on fire, quit my job as an illustrator, shred all of my paper and head off to live in a yurt with no internet access IMMEDIATELY!

Well, on the plus side it at least sounded relatively polite and was low on text-speak. It could have been worse; it could have been one of those "OMFG YUR ART SUX, UR ONLY DRAWING BOOBZ, U R SUCH A GAY FAG, GO KILL URSELF!!1!" things. God, I feel sullied for even writing like that....

I'm just going to ignore the whole "first comment" discussion all together, I've wasted enough of my life trying to explain how utterly pointless and immature this action is, so moving on.
An artist has the right to do what he or she pleases, as well as what subject matter they enjoy. Art is an expression of their thoughts, ideas, and emotions. This alone transcends "what" is on the canvas, but "who" is on it. *jollyjack puts himself, better yet, his persona, into his work. He loves what he does, as any respecting artist should. Some may not agree, others go as far as to produce this bile of hate for his work. Here's an idea I can only hope some of the more thick-headed individuals that wander around this site can get is that...you don't have to look at his work, let alone comment on it. I find his work interesting, as well as comical in the way it is presented, especially his comics. If anyone finds his work offensive, you have two options. One...don't look at it, no one is forcing you to do so, problem solved, and Two...find something productive to do for once in your lives other than bringing the populous I.Q. down several points.

tsk tsk evil critiques need to have their mouthes sewned shut or atleasts theirfingers sewned together. Your characters may have beautiful figures and sure their furry but they do have a certain charm about them and just becuase they have large boobs makes no difernrece theyjsut look adorably cute. ^-^ and as for the jerk who said the steroid comment or whatever needs to get owned by the pwnedhammer cuz I love your Elli characters.

I wonder if it's a jealousy thing, when people rant on about someone's art like that? I guess I don't get it, really. When someone is clearly better than me I mostly just turn green with envy. If I'm in a -really- bad mood I'll whine to someone else about how much I suck, but I know that's not all that appealing either so I do try to avoid that too.
