A critic will look at a piece of work they donβt like and pass comment, then pose a potential solution.A whiner will look at a piece of work they donβt like, then burst into tears, shrieking about how the artist has specifically set out to offend them, and never actually says anything constructive. Like this;
"Personally, I find your work to show an extreme lack of originality and taste.
It makes me extremely upset to see you getting so much attention with your soft-core furry smut but that's what your watchers want, so whatever!
Your drawings remind me of women on steroids, unattractive and unnatural.
You're a comic artist who really can't grasp any good concepts to get attention so instead draws furries with their boobs popping out. HOW ORIGINAL! : D
Oh, and lol, how almost every one of your 'stories' involves girls (of numerous animal types, but, you know, no connection to bestiality ) grow huge boobs for no reason.
I wish you would please, as the one and only favor I will ever as you to do for me, please please just quit drawing.

I will, of course, set all of my drawing equipment on fire, quit my job as an illustrator, shred all of my paper and head off to live in a yurt with no internet access IMMEDIATELY!

okay, this is obviously the comments of people who can't draw as well as you and don't have the talent to get popular like you have, now, though most of your art is suggestive, and a bit over done some times, it's still very good, original, and in good taste, dA is a site that lets you express yourself, and this is how you express yourself, and I love your art, so don't change, instead, spite the idiotic critics by drawing more boobs, furies and bulky women.

I think what's most entertaining about this is this: should the critic actually take a look at all of your work, and not just the stuff that hits the front page, he'd be surprised to find that it's not just women/furries with their boobs popping out. You've got a wonderful sense of composition, as well as a sense of humor that amuses the hell out of me. Sequential Art and How to Play are both great comics that I read loyally.
Fuck 'im, and keep drawing! I'll still be waiting for the next update.

Draw more. Sell it.
Not only do you 1> do what you like 2> make a profit 3>show some evidence that your work has a market, you also get 4> spite via success.

There was one thing I was told sometime ago about critics (I couldn't go without posting it):
"Critics are bitter people who are a complete failure on what they criticize. It's merely envy."
So, just as others said, ignore them and keep drawing; and draw lots of boobs and furries and what you feel like drawing. Do what you enjoy doing and doing great.

Critics are people who give comments on peoples work, even though they can't do any better... I think it's so funny when they say stuff like that... "I can take better pictures, this one sucks" "I can draw better, the nose wasn't straight" then you ask them to and they don't... It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. it would be nice to see you draw something of more realistic proportions for a change. something a bit less generic than "lol big boob'd furry cat girls SUGOIIIIIIIIIIIII". you have the talent, you can do something with far more substance and depth, and i would love to see that from you.

hey i know everyone is fixated on the "arguement" about first posts (mind you i dont know how long it lasts i stopped reading after first page)... but id like to say something about the ART... love the concept and it is so true i dont understand why people who dont like a piece of art cant just go "oh this isnt really my thing ill just click BACK now" i dont see the point in whinging/flaming something because "its not your thing" just go and look at some art that is... everyone has their likes and dislikes some people love furries some people dont... im not the biggest fan but at the same time they can be cute and very easily give you information about the character... also i LOVE jollyjack's linework and i can just appreciate that without having to be pissed off about what the linework is of... good job on the comic i love your work.
