...Dude. This scene was really striking to me. I saw something very special in it. Lemme tell you. (Spoilers!)
The way Luffy handled this was astounding. When Nami was still stubbornly refusing his help, she reminded him that he knew nothing about her past. Nothing about what happened to her eight years ago. Luffy simply said "Yeah, you're right." But the reason he said that wasn't because he didn't care about her. Quite the opposite actually. I think that Luffy was trying to make a very important point to Nami. What was that point? That it doesn't matter what happened to her all those years. He could know about it, but it makes no difference. He was about to help her for no reason at all. He helped her just because.
And then, when it came that she finally, weakly pleaded for Luffy to help her, he took his hat off his head, and placed it on hers. We were shown awhile back that Luffy had previously told her never to touch his hat, or, as he called it, his treasure. The very act of placing that hat on her head was a powerful act of Straw-Hat style love. It was his way of telling her: Nami, as of right now, you are of utmost importance to me. The main focus of my heart and my soul. I'm here for you.
It's at this point that it turns from your standard shonen anime, to a thing of art. This was beautiful in every way.

yes, me too! well the first scene that really spiked my interest for the two was on the first episode where they made eye contact

This was definitely one of my favorite scenes in the entire course of One Piece. The only to top it was perhaps where Luffy, with the rest of the crew silently standing alongside him on the roof of the Courthouse, demands to Robin whose in the Tower of Justice to say that she wants to live, causing her to burst into tears.

that part too was also a tearjerker but hate was more of what I felt in that scene because spandam was being a total ass! I really hate him!!

At first I just thought he was funny given his extreme clumsiness, but once he was confirmed as an even worse coward than Ussopp and utterly selfish and self-righteous, I lost all appeal for him. He's even worse than Lucci, who at least admitted to himself and others how much of a bastard he was.
