Description
So ... I'll try and make this it for a while - as far as eyes are concerned, anyhow. Hopefully. We'll see how my will-power holds out. Haha.I used GIMP for this picture, because my Photoshop CS3 free trial ran out a few days ago.
The photograph was taken by me, and it's my eye. I managed to keep the picture clear, somehow, and in focus, even though I took it further away from my eye than usual.
The brushes used can be found on GIMP itself.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

This is beautiful.
I was wondering what brushes you used for the swirls and where you got them (if you downloaded them)?

Hi,
Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
I use GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). It's very similar to Photoshop, but it's free to use!

What brushes did you use for the sparkle and glitter?

They were brushes that were already on GIMP when I downloaded it. The sparkly-glittery one sort of looks like the sun in the brush panel. If you want to change it's colour, you have to use 'Colour From Gradient' or something similar. You'll see it there, I'm sure.
Hope that helps. I'm not always the best at explaining things.

Thank you!
And you're welcome! The best place to look for them, here on deviantArt. If you have GIMP though, it's harder to get brushes to work, but there are plenty of tutorials on here too.

That's a really gorgeous blue for the eye. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, is that your soul spilling out in sparkly tendrils? It's what I think a soul would look like if I believed in souls...

Wow, thank you! I'm glad you like it, and that's a really nice way of thinking of it. I loved the colour too. I had to change it, of course, because my eyes aren't actually that colour! I wish!
