I'm pretty pleased with how this came out - I like the colours and the swirls. If you're wondering why I used another Iris, it's because my own (this is a photo of my own eye) came out all blurry and grainy, and was harder to work with, so ...

how long did it take you and in what system did you do it? if you dont mind me asking

I used GIMP - and it didn't take me very long. Probably 20 - 30 minutes once I knew what I was doing. Sometimes it takes longer if I'm working with a bigger picture, or if I'm taking my time more, of course, but this was was probably a little rushed, and I didn't take more care with it. But the more practice you get, the faster you get, so ...

Yes, it is, it's a free version. It's not as good, or as fancy looking, but it's still great, and has a lot of the same features.

I don't know if you have ever followed .hack, but there is a character called Azure Kite whos eyes look like that (they are kind of creepy)
I looked for a picture, but I didn't find any good ones...oh well.
