Description
So I've been having some weirdly vivid dreams for awhile now, but this one really stuck out to me and I absolutely had to draw it outIt's not uncommon for me to lucid dream, but this one was just so vivid and lifelike I can't help but think about it a lot
In this dream, I was with my friends I play d&d with, only we weren't our characters, just our regular human selves. Our dm was a voice coming from the sky, but his npcs were still there. Apparently our goal was to open the giant door on this structure (the thing that looks kind of like an eye-- but I can tell you that it was definitely not an eye, no similar vibes within the dream) and get something inside. This giant fortress was off the coast of some northern town where it was very cold and constantly snowing. The fortress itself was made out of stone, but there were a lot of cracks in it. The walls on either side had giant window-like openings with curtains of fire; the entire thing was one block, but there were pillar carvings underneath. The main part was this large pathway leading to the door. Along the pathway, there were skeletons. These skeletons were guarding the door, and we got rid of them by closing the fire curtains (I think we had a tarp or something to block the fire?). Once we had distracted the skeletons, our dm's npcs flew an astral ship (the same one we use in the campaign) up to the door. There, they began working on opening it. I remember a sense of urgency in getting this door open because the skeletons wouldn't stay distracted for long. They were finally able to open the door, but inside it was pitch black. Two figures walked towards us, but we couldn't see what they were. One of them whispered something, and we immediately slammed the door shut.Β
And then I woke up

Hi are you okay that dream sounds terrifying? You definitely captured the mood and the colour palette is very nice! I'd love to see more dream paintings if you ever decide/want to make more!

In all seriousness though, this is really neat! It's cool that you can remember your dreams so vividly.
All of my dreams re either too weird to ever be spoken of or I just don't remember them.Β Β

I've definitely had dreams before that I've wanted to paint or draw, so I'm keeping them in my mind so I can make a series off of them since most of them revolve around my childhood home :>
Yeah, I've had creepy dreams before so this piece brought some memories back for me XD
