do you always choose new or the same characters?

Well, they actually just appear when I start drawing. They all depend on each other, when I draw a big freckled one, usually there are simpeler and smaller ones around it to keep the balance right. When I draw one with a strong expression, that one will be accompanied by 1) another strong expression or 2) some more laidback ones.
In the end it's a palette of features I build them up of, a few eyes a few mouths, hair in different style, some face patterns but it's the interactions and the expressions that count.
For instance, this one: [link] I made for someone with the asperger syndrome. He did not care about the individual differences between the Munnen. What he wanted to see were interactions and above all patterns. So interactions and patterns is what he got. Picture quality is poor unfortunately, I didn't have a decent camera at the time (all the old ones are badly photographed actually)

Interesting! Especially your work for the one with asperger syndrome, you know, I want to do Art Therapy one day and I am very fascinated in autistics...

Well, I know quite some people with (light) autistic syndromes and the Munnen usually are something which facinates them even more than they facinate me
They seem to notice things I do not even see in the drawings!

hmm...maybe I should show your drawings my boyfriend. He had/hasthis syndrome, but today he is nearly a "normal" person. So he has only problems by categorizing his or other people's feelings and in big crowds...And still, some words that discribe feelings or a relationship has not the same sense and meaning for him as for me. We often discuss about that and also about art. I was on a Munch exhibition and showed him his artwork in a book of the exhibition i bought there. The faces with very hard expressions had no sense for him and that caused a combletely different interpretation. The faces were deadpan for him...Maybe it is easier to see the expressions when they are reduced like in your drawings and, of course, if they are not showen in a face of a human....
Oh my good these people are so fascinating *___________*

excactely right! My sister has something similar (ADHD), but now she's 25 it's almost unnoticable.
By the way, when you see some advertisements of a cosmetic brand named 'Gothmetic' and you see a red haired girl, that's my sister . We went to the Amphi festival last year in Koeln and due to sheer coincidence she was pictured and won a model contest and now she is travelling to Germany a lot for photoshoots and all XD
But that's a sidetrack, we were talking about autism...many people with autism in one way or another end up working in the technical business. I've seen a lot of people like that in the various jobs I had and also now I'm working at a technical university, many of my students have some of the features people with autism have.
For some reason I always go around well with people with asperger, pddnos, add, adhd etc, perhaps because they have one thing in common: honesty. I like that in people, no double agenda's, no hidden catch, just honest people.
