Description
And here we are, a gathered crowd, all patiently waiting. But for what? We do not know. What we do know is that the happening everyone is waiting for, hasn't started yet. Some grow a little impatience, others are almost asleep, others are telling stories (to sub audiences which aren't always that interested so to see) but the majority just stands there, doing nothing. Recognize yourself in it? Or your surroundings?(framed here fav.me/d4makrx in the UK)

Pretty nice, simple and entertaining drawing. It's always a pleasure to look at these kind of drawings, looking at each little characher in the crowd.
The lineart is neat and fits very well with the whole thing, even with such simply drawn little characters, we can distinguish here your own style.
I think this would have been better if the picture was entirely filled with the crowd. This blank space on top is kinda pointless. Filling it would make the whole thing funnier.
The details are the heart of this piece. Too bad most of the little people doesn't have anything specific on them. This would be purely awesome to look.
Overall this is a very nice piece of art. The "crowd drawings" are always a pure pleasure to see.

hmm, I was thinking about filling the whole space but after thoroughly thinking that over, I decided to leave some space open. With this the crowd effect gets more accent and the overall composition gets better imho.

First if all, I love this. I'm the kind of person that loves the art that exceeds the normal, and this has done just that. You could of just as easily done a crowd of faceless, waiting people. But no, creatures it is!
For vision, fruit and a half. I love the way that it curves up, and doesnet fill the whoe screen, so it leaves room for the eye to wander. I also love the whole black and white thing, but for some reason he random polka dotes and and countless single eyes...I feel as if there scattered a bit TOO randomly. Bt all in all for visi, awesome!
Originality, another four and a half. I
Again, I live how you could of done just a faceless crowd of People, but did minsters instead. But, for some reason, monsters like this seem to be on everyone's mind here days. But, I do love the difference.
Defenite five for technique! You spread out the expressions and th eye movement VERY well. They all seem to fit together perfectly, and again, I love the room that you left for th human eye to wander.
Impact, five! I think in this pice, the title especially says it all. You could of easily put almost anything as the title, and we still would of loved it. But th title that you chose, (or had in mind) brings out everything symbolic in this. The impact also leaves from the diversity in this art. After some searching, you can see cat ears, tongues, and sunglasses!
I love this, and it has become one of my favorites in the few short minutes that I've seen it. The best DD I've seen yet!

i'm not surprised! it's so good. would you mind (if i ever really want to punish myself, lol, if i made an attempt to color this? are these A4 sized?
i run into a lot of dutch people here and they all, including you, seem to write english very well. do you know german and french as well? i suppose not all that many people speak dutch, so you'd have to! lol
i added the thumb of your original line art before i colored it, to my deviation, so people can see how it got where it did.Β

these are A3 sized. The thing called 'hair ball' is A2 sized....that was a real challenge, I can tell you that.
And most of us Dutchies speak English to a certain degree. French and German are tougher. I myself speak both a little since I had both languages taught to me in high school but I've never used them afterwards.
Funny thing though, I wasn't all that fond of learning German and rather I was drawing so I drew. And in German classes I was sitting in the back of the class, drawing cartoon versions of our teacher, Ms. Munnichs. Years and years later, this small drawing evevolved to the Munnen we see today.
So short story shortened: Without German classes, there wouldn't be any Munnen!
how about that ?
