What on earth possessed you to write something like that??!!

There's constructive criticism, criticism and then an outright insulting comment, and what you've done is jump right over the first two and choose the totally unnecessary third option. I woke up this morning, New Years Day, had breakfast, turned on my phone and your comment was the first thing I read. Needless to say I started my 2019 by feeling pretty awful! If you insult my artwork then you insult me directly, and I really don't appreciate that at all!

You wouldn't go up to a complete stranger in the street and say 'I'm sorry, but your hair really looks ridiculous', or 'I'm sorry, but those clothes really don't go together, did you dress yourself in the dark?', so why would you think it appropriate to post insulting comments on DeviantArt?

Also, prefacing your statement with 'I'm sorry, but...' does not give you a free pass to say anything you want without consequence. I could go through your gallery and add comments such as 'I'm sorry, but this looks like it was drawn by a five year old', however I choose not to do that because I like to think of myself as a relatively decent person, who wouldn't dream of leaving a negative, unconstructive comment like that on anyone's deviation.

There's an general rule in life that if you can't say anything nice then you really shouldn't say anything at all. I'd advise you to remember that when you're inclined to make similar comments in future.

I would normally wish you a Happy New Year, but based on your comment I'm not entirely sure you deserve one.
