After the rule of the Ottomans and later the British Empire, on the land of the ancient Nabateans
emerged the Nation of Jordan, a constitutional arab Monarchy under the hands of the Hashemites.
Besides Oman and Egypt, it‘s one of the few arab nations whom recognized Israel and today Jordan
is home to millions of people of diverse religions denominations and beliefs. The country have good
relations to the United States and is siding with Saudi-Arabia in the cold war between Saudi-Arabia
and the Islamic Republic of Iran. With an area of almost 90,000 km², Jordan is slighty bigger than
Austria, and it‘s population have likely the amount of the Czech Republic.
