I took a photo of a wolfspider in some leaf debris while working on a ranch south of Mojave, CA. The instant I saw the composition I got an idea. Where the sword is in the painting was a tiny leaf in the source photo, so there's a big implication of size and volume to begin with.Also. These characters are probably dead... anyone who grew up around wolfspiders know they're fast.
