As a fan of both the BBC Microcomputer 32K and of Star Trek it crossed my corn-fed mind one day in the year 1998 that if the Borg assimilated to improve species and technologies, could they improve upon the amazing BBC Micro (amazing then, considering the nature of the home computer market) and this saw me creating an image of a assimilated BBC Microcomputer with considerably more than thirty-two kilobytes of RAM ... a protoplasma sensor assembly, external hardware enhancements and an optical unit. Kaaa-BLEEP! (in Acorn ASCII this means ''resistance is futile'')

Today that same machine has two hundred and fifty six gigabytes of RAM, can run a computer center and has shields capable of protecting it from intentional or unintentional coffee or soda spills!
