Thought I answered this way back when, ha sorry. My inks are usually done with either the "green bottle" Sumi Ink I can never remember the name of (if i ever knew it. Its always been mystery green bottle ink.) or Yasutomo inks. I use bamboo/ asian style brushes generally, usually the student grade Chinese or Japanese Yasutomo brushes. I also have a few precious 30 dollar+ brushes that have been doing a lot of the work lately. I also work on 140lb arches cold press paper or heavier, the ink tends to resist my control more on that paper and I prefer the spontaneous and heavily saturated results.

The more I answer this, the more I worry that my answer is changing-- but I guess that's part of this process too.
My thesis has become about my hopes and fears of love, relationships, inheritance and dealing with depression. I'm experimenting with obscuring more and more of the images as I progress, to play with the way that shapes and black masses that evolve into abstract symbols can still have the potency of a coherent image-- they can still speak. Also, I have an obsessive tendency to design with blacks on paper. Hope that helps!
