did this a couple days back to try and shake a funk. also to kick out a stupid idea to see if it had any traction.short sum - take your standard sexy-minded super hero lady ... and force mix it with an equal amount of smother-mother (simultaneous fusion). Hopefully the intended result is awkward humor.
As for her powers ... mostly she's a bruiser (sturdy and strong), but a more unique note is that she has low-level flight. She can fly places, but has to be within some 20 feet of another object. Just kinda creates some interesting dynamics with her travel and such.
what do you think? good/bad idea? got a name for her? thoughts?

I know I've probably said this before, but I'm head-over-heels in love with this gal's design. There's a delightfully retro feel to her aesthetic, with subtle nods to Power Girl and Super Girl. The bob-cut is mature yet somehow flirty (I think it's the way it hides her face a little), and the goggles have a more open and welcoming feel to them than a mask would.
I really hope you decide to do more with her in the future. She's gorgeous.

I love the flight restrictions -- she's gonna have to be good at terrain-following. I hope she doesn't lose her glasses. Her figure might make for interesting aerodynamics. Her cleavage would be a pretty big air scoop! But oh-so useful for hugging/smothering her kids. Which goes nicely with the bruiser-mother combination. She is already a pretty cool character.

I can't think of a name (I'll just call her super mom for now) but I say this is a great idea, cartoons have played with the idea of a mom superhero but never fully explored it or made it the focus. I would love to see this developed.
Suggestions for world building:
- The world could be after a period in which there has been no superheros for a while, the world government banned them for reasons like in the The Incredibles but then when super villains returned in full-force the world government was like "Ok we were wrong! PLEASE HELP US!!!". Problem is so many superheroes settled down with families and/or retired, super mom is one of the few original superheroes still willing to fight and young enough to be in her prime.
- As a result she develops various mother-child/mentor-student relationships with the various young superheroes who have answered the call, at least one kid is a rebel who refuses to respect her until much later and one is the daughter/son of one of super mom's best friends.
- Her husband is one of the first people she saved as a superhero; he was a soldier in the army and she got him out of the way of a huge laser, he returned the favor not long later by destroying a robot with a well-placed grenade. She intended to hang up the cape forever to help raise her family... But then her husband was killed in action when the army was forced to take on a super villain.
- Another character could be the incarnation of Mother Earth and serve as either a mentor or friendly rival to super mom here. How the character acts and how she looks like is up to you, but I recommend giving her an even bigger rack than super mom, green hair, control over plants and earth, and either a tribal look or a greek priestess look.
- Main no-nonsense villain could either be an alien queen or a mad scientist (male or female), either way someone who pumps out kids and only views them as pawns.

yeah, i've noticed that as well (regarding mom focus) - about the only exception worth noting is Invicible's Atom Eve and Mrs Incredible.
with the world building, if I use her she'd actually end up in Happenstance Square (i.e. Snow's world). So a lot of that is in place ... though there's definitely some ideas to steal from your comments.
- And yeah, I actually was thinking of making her hubby be a normal. the rescue'd sort is an angle i've thought about as well.
