Oh hey, solicits went up last night so I guess I can upload this now. This is the pencil work and finished colors for the STH #268 Variant (which will be my second Sonic cover).

This one's important because features the first real (and long overdue) appearances of two very rare characters (1 game, 1 cartoon) to the comics.

Concerning Honey the Cat (2nd card down) -- because she's such an incredibly obscure character, proper model sheets don't exist of her -- like at all. And the actual extracted game model (Sonic the Fighters) is a blocky mess of barely discernible 90's Sega Saturn polygons. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I screwed up her hair and ears (missing the ponytails and hair barrette thingies entirely) in the pencil phase due to shoddy referencing and didn't catch it until the coloring phase. Thankfully, it wasn't too hard to fix digitally.

Concerning Breezie the Hedgehog (holding the cards) -- Breezie's new design (I'm certain someone will probably upload a full shot of it later) came from numerous sources, primarily Ian Flynn and Aleah's Baker's general ideas, my drawing of an initial design based on their description to start the ball rolling (done on a sticky note during lunch of all things lol), Vin's tweaking of said sticky note, Ben Bates' head notes (we applied the hair/spine design from his take on her to my suit design) and minor tweaks from all the mentioned parties going forward until we came up with a proper finalized model. I think you'll be pleased with how she looks given her execution (none of which I will spoil) in the comics VS her execution in the few episodes of cartoon she appeared in. It was fun taking one of the Milton Knight's many oddball "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" character designs and applying a more Segasonic twist to it.

Also, if you look carefully...you'll see that I finally managed to get Mama Robotnik on a cover.
