As I said before congrats on the win. This is one of my fav of your historical works. I think that it is great the amount of detail and research that you put in to them. If I still collected miniatures I would throw the fantasy ones that I had out and run off just to buy so of the historical models after see your work!

There's some great historical models out there, and if you're prepared to do the book-work history is the best fantasy setting ever! Thanks again!

Speaking as someone whose family is from Wallachia, hells freaking yes. This is a great scene, and it's always nice to see an image of Vlad where he isn't being made into some kind of vampiric monstrosity.

Well, I can't argue with that! A native by blood, no less.
Time and time again I approach a new eras in history for my work, and often I can be unenthused mostly through ignorance, but once you start reading and researching 99 times out of a hundred its amazing stuff! Vlad is an incredible character, as are Janos Hunyadi, Skanderbeg etc etc.
Thanks for looking and I'm glad you like it!

Oh for sure! I'm just working on some colour internal art for a pirates game from Games Workshop - the cover is in my gallery, and I've been busy doing some black and white internal art for a samurai supplement for 'em too.

Thanks I had some fun with the sky - when you do a cover generally the top 25% gets covered by the trade dress - the title and so on. So you can muck about a bit more up there!
