I am in the same "place" as you... about the same age, have not drawn anything since high school, no formal art background, and an insane NEED to draw..... to the point, when I look up from my drawings (several hours later! lol) I have no idea who has done them!  Your skill is advancing SO rapidly..... this one, well, it looks like a photograph, your artwork inspires me to go back to my drawings, and keep working past the fear of screwing them up.... you know what I am talking about.....
