The Daily Doodle #258.This guy needs no introduction... Dredd has been a solid favourite since I first came across 2000AD sometime around 1979/80 at the age of ten or so, though I didn't start reading it regularly until Prog 198 in 1981. This one was part of a submission to Rebellion (which was rejected)not long before graduating in Illustration in 1999, though the colour is new.Β I was particularly pleased with the eagle, but can see the faults with the rest of it these days... and my drawing style has evolved somewhat since then...

The shoulder eagle really is good. I like the way a prominent symbol of fascism, looks kind of submissive as if the eagle has been crucified on Dredd's shoulder, the judge of the whole earth who even the spirit Β of fascism can't control. Dredd, an anarchist fascist.Β
(I realise that this is probably just an un-intentional part of perspective and angle treatment but any art that makes you think is good in my book)
