My sister's a sword fighter, I can imagine her saying something like, "Well that's a good way for him to get his arm cut off ...and his chest is wide open..."
That set is pretty cool. You look like you were having fun.

I also have really bad hand placement on the weapons, it was right when I was switchin them up but I liked the look on my face the best in this one

Yes she said underpants! no clue why she is odd that way but that is why i love her. but that is besides the point you are missing my critique which is that it must be sharpend or blurred which ever one will help you get your prtraits point across but yes it is an awsome pic but it hurts my eyes the way it is now. and again yes underpants! ^_^

I didn't actually take this picture (that's me)
so i'm not going to mess with it, but I see where you're going.
UNDERPANTS!

I really like this picture a whole lot. The composition is really good, the lighting is excellent and the background is great.
The only things I would perhaps change is the obviously digitally altered eyes, and having both knives fully in shot.
Do you have a copy of the picture without the blue eyes? I would certainly add that to my favourites

JonnyBalls In reply to fangedwolf [2005-08-09 15:14:36 +0000 UTC]
Well, I guess technically... the eyes are the only things UNaltered! hahaha
I don't have a deviation with the normal colors though

Heh I actually really like the picture in the tones you changed it to. I just think the eyes should be the same colour as the rest of the picture was all. heh, oh well, I think im just a bit picky, pay no attention

It would be cool if you could post the original/ the original fully toned. It would be interesting to see it.
Also, can you remember what lighting setup you had going for this? It looks like a spillkill facing towards you from the right of the picture, or am I wrong? I havnt done a lot of portraiture in college yet, only a couple of units, so Im still getting to grips with the lighting setups for different moods.

haha... What's a spillkill?
I only had one light for this... I'm pretty sure, haha...
I have a bad memory, This was shot a while ago in LA, and I don't sleep much when i travel, haha

This is a spill kill.. not sure what you call them in the states.. [link]
I have a really bad memory as well, but its part of our course that we learn to take notes of all lighting setups and details of any shoot *sweatdrop* useful if I want to reshoot something, but otherwise annoying and tedious.

Is that continuous or flash lighting?
I used a flash

fangedwolf In reply to JonnyBalls [2005-08-10 13:59:12 +0000 UTC]
Its used in both really, though obviously the tungsten model light will give an orange glow if its continuous. I had a similar setup for one of mine.

if you check the gallery section, its under the portraits.. i think the second.

Im currently in the vast swathes of the unemployed student body. Im hoping to land a photography assistant job by the end of the coming college year. Fingers crossed eh?

Go for it! You have the knowledge!
I know a lot of photography grads that ended up getting a job outside of photography, like working at a diner or something.
don't let it happen to you!! haha

fangedwolf In reply to JonnyBalls [2005-08-12 10:21:17 +0000 UTC]
I ended up unemployed for two years after I graduated from university, so my top priority other than passing the course with good grades is getting a job. Im 25 this year, and have apsolutely no wish to be amongst the unemployed any longer, nor am I going to settle for flipping burgers heh. I Will get a good job. *strikes a pose* I demand it of the world!

GOOD!!!
The worst is when people can't find a job & "settle" for a "temp" job until they can find a real job...
then they never find a real job & get caught in a rut!
Good luck to you!!! Do it for the world!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
fangedwolf In reply to JonnyBalls [2005-08-12 12:34:46 +0000 UTC]
I can but try. I have been in that rut and have no wish to stay there. Worked in a factory setting for over two years heh. Not something I wish to do for the rest of my life, so it drives me on to get a job I really like and want. After all, if you get a job doing something you really like, then you never have to work again

JonnyBalls In reply to fangedwolf [2005-08-12 12:47:01 +0000 UTC]
Exactly!!!
That's my goal...
I have a job in my field, but yeah it's a "JOB" & my field is in software development...
Thats why one day I'll work full time doing photography & never WORK again!!!
