I think the poeple on the background are fine, they help reinforce the lower/higher planes "transitivity" feeling... Am I starting to sound a little bit crazy here?!

this is the kind of photo that i wouldn't even think to take. i would walk right past and miss it. but this is why you are a great photographer. you make a simple, everyday task of walking down some stairs look really effin cool Jonny.

I agree it would be better if the people in the background weren't there, but then again, it's London after all. With such crowds you could stand there half a day & not manage to get precisely the perfect, "clean" shot you would want
