Description
The year was 1349 in a small English town known as Hallow.
I remember being seated at the table with my parents for evening prayer and hearing the coughing and screaming of the townsfolk outside the kitchen windows.
During that time our town had begun to feel the effects of a widely spoken rumor. A black horse with a rider so dark, taking the lives of many.
As assigned, men dressed in black robes with crow masks visited our town shortly after the happenings occurred. They told us the conjunction of 3 planets unleashed the rider in the shadows, causing famine and the death of millions.
Our own town had been hit hard. Crops began dying as the farm hands fell ill, leaving livestock to fend for themselves. Sick parents trying their best to hold on to what little they still have left, while their crying children began to fall ill with the same sickness. Mothers cried out for someone to save their lifeless children as the doctors set fire to the remains of those already gone. By the end, there was nothing left, except puddles of sorrow, as those we loved the most were taken from us. I will never forget those days, and those we lost.
