Description
This is a character I've been working on for my Intro To Games Design class at Uni (I'm not looking to getting into games design in the future, but it's a component of my digital media degree).The game will be a non-action (in terms of 'fighting enemies'
RGP/ strategy with multiple endings, and I'm constructing it using Maya 8.5 (3D graphics program). I've started modelling her in Maya and I'm also working on a Greecian fishing town scene.

Good job! My favorite part of this picture is the facial expressions, your style gives such elegance even to emotions like distaste. The girl's shoes are especially well-designed in my opinion, and even the fairly plain clothes look cute on this girl. Once again, I admire your detail in drawing the ties for the shorts. The girl's bird is darling, though it looks a bit awkwardly placed. That's the only critique I can think of for this picture, I love everything from the subtle freckles to the poses. Even in rough work, you can truly display a huge talent!

I love the simple design very much. Will you be posting the final renders? Maya kicked my ass when I tried using it for animation class, so I'm interested in seeing how it turns out for you.
Also, what degree are you going for? It sounds more interesting that "Communication Arts" which, I think, is the official title of my "chosen major".

I'll probably post my final render, yeah. So long as it's not too embarrassingly bad (I'm learning).
My degree is called Bachelor Of Visual Media and my major is Digital Design. We do a combination of film/camera work, post-production special effects, web & interface design and 3D design. Plus a few other bits and pieces. I minor in Graphic Design. It's lots of fun. (:

Sounds really cool! I think that "communication arts" includes both aspects of Graphic Design and Digital Design, but I'm not sure. Heh- no matter. My "real" college classes don't start until I move onto campus next Spring.

intro to videogame design is such an awesome class. In the class I took, we used 3dstudio max.
It's a really good experience even for people who don't intend on making games.
