Description I've been working on this ship for the last month, and when I finished it, I realized I needed an interesting planet. I added in a planet, Zarahemla, designed with only procedural textures. The ship itself is a sort of Assault Carrier of my own design, carrying Mecha, Fighters, Bombers, Gunships, and working closely with Corvettes.

I originally designed this to be used with the NationStates online RPG.

heh, Its not that great at holding on to its users, it gets boring. I've left it and went back to it at least 3 times over the past 2 years. I'm looking forward to experamenting with NationStates2 tho.

well its a great great peice, i love it. Only thing i'm curioust about is it seems to be set up like a standard aircraft carrier that floast in water....with the elevators and landing deck and people wandering around....How come you choose to do that? with the whole gravity thing, it woudl seem difficult to launch and land in combat. Just a question from a SCi Fi geek, sorry if it annoys you ^_^

Read up about 3 messages... I BSed an explanation ^_^

For anyone wondering why in the heck you need runways in space, here is the explanation:

The runway's kinetofield has the ability to both quickly accellerate and quickly decellerate a ship of almost any size,
by basically "pumping" or "draining" the kinetic energy into or out of the ship, and storing it for the next task on the runway.

This allows for very quick scrambles, and hotter landings. Instead of having a ship decellerate and perform docking maneuvers, or using a tractor beam or anything
like that, they can merely charge in at almost full speed, and the field absorbs their momentum, stopping them within usually half the length of the runway.
Impact is cushioned by electromagnetic fields integral to the runways kinetofield.

Preety good work here. Should add some weathering to the ship to make it seem a little more used. But then again it could just be a new ship.

Thanks, I love pictures where the closer you zoom in, the more you can see. In one i'm working on, each little dude is doing his own little thing.. You can see the first draft in the scraps section, looks a lot like this one, but with firefighting. I like to zoom in in photoshop and just look at each mecha, or starfighter, individually, and watch what they're doing.
