Sumre is essentially a living mass of magma who can change forms at will, and sustained by a magical consciousness. She feeds mainly on either lava or rocks to sustain her body and size. However, she will feed on humans for fun, despite them being incinerated almost immediately after she closes her mouth. However, like fire Elementals, Sumre can cool portions of her body to be cool enough to touch, which of course, is handy if she wishes to keep prey alive in her stomach simply to torture them. However, once she feels it's been enough, the second long incineration awaits.

Not much is to be said about Sumre's past. She formed herself a body out of magma and obsidian plates, which change configuration almost daily, though they remain in the same general formation. (The only thing that doesn't change is the mailable obsidian mask she wears over her actual face). These plates are worn to keep her magma from cooling as quickly so she may sustain her form for longer periods of time outside of her home. She lived in a cavern beneath the Frost Peak mountain range, but eventually decided to head to the surface, to see what was above her cavern home, which in the 350 years she lived inside it, transformed it into what one might mistake as the inside of a volcano. Sumre rarely wears her plates in her cavern, as she is surrounded by heat and lava, and sees no need for them.

Sumre is a rather bold and brash character, thinking quite highly of herself. However, she can be nice if she chooses to be, though that's usually only when she's with Winry on the mountains and in the jungle. The two journey to the jungle to hunt together (though Sumre mainly as an escort) whenever Winry has the courage to make the journey, which is becoming more and more often since she is beginning to realize that Sumre can easily protect her with her pyrokenisis, warding off any wild beasts or carnivorous plants.

Side notes: Sumre can at times be a bit of a pyromaniac, unnecessarily starting fires in the jungle around the mountains, which may lead to her getting into trouble sooner or later. Sumre may also re-absorb her obsidian plating (and in extreme cases her obsidian mask) to increase her size or use as surplus fuel. The color and natural temperature of Sumre's lava can also vary depending on her diet. For instance, if she consumes high amounts of sulfur, her magma will be much colder than normal (around the boiling point of water), and have a distinct blue color.
