Description
My favourite print I made for Fan Expo, and an ode to my childhood passion, TMNT! The four turtles, plus Rasputin, Napoleon, and Ray Fillet traipsing through a swamp, while Leatherhead and Armaggon lurk behind them.Watercolour and Gouache.

wOw, this is really impressive! That rain and the swamp really conveys a great sense of atmosphere! I wouldn't have even noticed Armaggon and Leatherhead if you hadn't pointed them out! Gee... I wonder if Genghis and Attila got picked off?

..no offense though but the turtles creep me out...
....I mean... that sounded awful, I didn't mean they were bad or anything, I really really like the designs, each individual looks like they have a story behind them as well as the entire scene, it's beautifully drawn, tons of detail.
But they creep me out, cuz, I'm used to the cute, cartoony turtles xDDD and now I see giant, realistic turtles and I'm like D8 WTS?!
:3 but I like them.
(what actually creeps me out is Leo's face xDDD)

Haha, dude, no offence at all! They are, after all, giant mutant turtles wielding deadly weapons. They probably would be pretty creepy in reality, so I guess that's kind of what I was going for. Glad you like them anyway!

this is fantastic! all the textures of the plants and the characters skin and clothes look really great and detailed. I love how it looks like the water is rippling in the rain. Best of all, it like the picture actually tells a story, one which I would love to hear the rest of. Awesome dude! Love it!

I love how you gave each turtle their own kind of skin pattern, like they are different species of turtles. Nice subtle touch. The rain is stellar!

Thanks! Yeah, I heard them referred to as "terrapins" a bunch in the 2003 cartoon, so I looked up a bunch of different terrapin turtles so they'd each have their own patterning. Glad you appreciated it!

Thanks, A-Rod! Yeah, I think there's a bit of osmosis learning going on, I notice it with my linework. The rain was scary! I was worried I was going to ruin it, putting those marks all over the piece after I'd spent so many hours painting it, but it all worked out.
